**Position Summary** The purpose of a Broker Service Officer (BSO) is to support Australian mortgage brokers with administrative tasks related to the preparation, processing, and tracking of loan applications. The role involves communicating with relevant stakeholders, preparing documentation, maintaining accurate CRM and system updates, and managing loan applications from pre-submission through to post-approval within required time frames. This role also focuses on delivering a smooth and streamlined customer experience by working closely with clients and brokers to research lenders, products, and policies that best suit client requirements. **Key Responsibilities** - Work closely with brokers to structure and package loan applications, ensuring submissions align with lender policies and client needs - Prepare comprehensive credit submissions across a range of lending scenarios, including: - Refinances - Purchases - Multiple securities - Multiple applicants - SMSF lending - Bridging finance - Liaise with clients to collect required documentation and clarify financial details - Perform NCCP compliance checks and convert summary notes into detailed submissions - Understand and interpret complex financial structures, including: - Self-employed clients - SMSFs - Trusts and company structures - Complete lender servicing calculators and living expense analysis to assess borrowing capacity - Research lenders with policies suited to client requirements and provide guidance to ensure compliance and optimal loan structuring - Order property valuations and communicate with valuation firms for follow-ups or escalations - Submit pricing requests across multiple lenders for both new applications and existing loans - Generate and interpret comprehensive credit reports - Assist in resolving Mortgage Insurer Requirements (MIRs), conditional approvals, and settlement conditions - Cross-check approval and settlement documents to ensure accuracy and alignment with client requirements - Stay up to date with industry trends, lending products, and regulatory changes **Person Specification, Competencies, and Attitudes** - Excellent customer service skills with a professional and friendly approach - Proactive problem-solving ability and strong decision-making skills - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision - High attention to detail when reviewing documents and ensuring compliance - Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively **Essential Requirements** - Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking - Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field - Minimum 4 years of experience in the Australian mortgage broking industry specialising in loan processing - Strong understanding of complex loan structures (multiple applicants, securities, SMSF, trust, and company lending) - Solid knowledge of various income streams and confidence in income calculations (PAYG, SMSF, company, and trust) - Experience using MyCRM for data entry of client information and loan applications - Experience lodging applications via platforms such as Apply Online (AOL), Simpology, or direct lender systems - Experience generating application documents, including First Home Buyer and discharge forms - Familiarity with aggregator CRMs such as MyCRM, Infynity, Mercury Nexus, FLEX, or Salestrekker - Proficient in Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office (Gmail, Outlook, etc.) - Experience using task/project management tools such as Monday.com, Trello, or Airtable **Desirable Skills** - Experience working in a brokerage environment with multiple brokers in a fast-paced setting - Proficiency in MyCRM software **Benefits** - 3 - 6 months on-site training and induction program - Flexible work options: work from home, on-site, or hybrid - Monthly rewards and recognition programs - Opportunity to complete Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking (subject to eligibility) - Regular professional and social engagement events - Access to ongoing learning and development resources
