Credit Risk Review (CRR) provides independent, objective, reliable, valued and timely assurance to the Boards, the Committees, the Citigroup Chief Risk Officer, the Citigroup Chief Credit Officer, senior management and regulators over the effectiveness of credit, capital and collateral risk management and the ability of the Business and independent Risk Management to identify, monitor and mitigate current and emerging risks. Within CRR as part of the CRR Wholesale Team, the Credit Assurance & Loan Review Mechanism (CALRM) function provides an independent review and challenge of credit risk management. In this role, you’re expected to: The Credit Review Senior Officer - CALRM is responsible for independently managing the execution of Reviews in accordance with the CALRM Procedures Manual, monitoring and evaluation of Citibank N.A. India Corporate Bank, Commercial Bank, Global Wealth and Markets portfolios, strategies, and credit risks, assessment of the effectiveness of credit risk management, proposal of pragmatic solutions to risk and control issues, and maintaining ongoing contact with a Citibank N.A India senior management through continuous Monitoring, Reviews and corrective action follow-up, where applicable. Responsibilities: · Assesses the effectiveness of credit risk management at Citibank N.A. India and the ability of the Business and Independent Risk to identify, monitor and mitigate current and emerging credit risks across Citibank N.A India aligned with credit regulatory expectations. · Management of Citibank N.A India portfolio through ongoing testing and periodic Reviews. · Assessment of the quality of the portfolio and relationships, including identification and evaluation of emerging risks. · Assessment of the quality and adequacy of credit analysis, ongoing credit management, as well as accuracy and appropriateness of risk ratings and classifications of corporate, commercial and high-net worth relationships and other credit regulatory obligations. · Assessment of the effectiveness of the credit risk processes and standards to promote leading practices and identify opportunities for improvements. · Preparation of Credit Assessment Documents in accordance with and at the quality standards required by the CALRM Procedure Manual . · Approval of relationship-level file testing prepared by CALRM Credit Risk Reviewers. · Evaluation of the appropriateness of Corrective Action Plans resulting from Reviews and subsequent validation of the effectiveness of the same after implementation by the Business. · Accountability for the quality and consistency of work products that include Credit Assessment Documents, Sample Rationale Documents, and CALRM Review Reports created for Citibank N.A India. · Support Senior Credit Review Managers and Global Head of CRR Wholesale. · Proactive communication to Senior Credit Review Managers and CRR Senior Management of any concerns and/or emerging risks that may jeopardize the Citibank N.A India entity. As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure: Knowledge/Experience: · Demonstrable financial services experience including 10 years of credit experience in corporate or commercial banking. · Regulatory experience or relevant experience in Credit Loan Review Mechanism or similar role at another institution is highly desirable. · Work experience in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or similar with credit or financial statement analysis experience. · Good knowledge of capital markets products, including derivatives. · Expert in risk analysis and risk management processes for one or more products and lending areas. · Fully conversant in credit policy matters with proven sound judgment. Skills/Competencies: · Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes and trends and anticipate horizon issues. · Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate and manage large review teams. · Ability to recognize emerging risks, including operational risk. · Proven ability to build and maintain relationships and exert influence without direct authority. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills, wit
