Sabre is a global leader in innovative technology powering the travel industry. We are looking for a **Senior Software Engineer Automation** who is passionate about building scalable, high-quality automation solutions for modern data platforms. This role is ideal for someone with strong expertise in **backend and data engineering automation**, particularly with **Python, PySpark, and BigQuery**. While there is some exposure to UI automation using Playwright, the primary focus will be on **data, backend, and API automation**. **Key Responsibilities** **Automation & Framework Development** - Design and develop scalable automation frameworks for backend systems and data pipelines - Build automation solutions using **Python and PySpark** for large-scale data validation - Develop reusable components for data quality, schema validation, and regression testing **Data & BigQuery Testing** - Write and optimize complex SQL queries in **BigQuery** - Validate ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformations - Perform large-scale data validation and reconciliation - Ensure high data quality (accuracy, completeness, consistency) **Backend & API Automation** - Automate REST API testing using Python-based frameworks - Validate business logic, integrations, and service contracts - Build end-to-end regression suites for backend systems **UI Automation (Secondary)** - Develop automated UI test scripts using **Playwright** - Validate critical user journeys and workflows **CI/CD & DevOps** - Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines - Enable automated testing for releases and deployments - Work closely with DevOps for test environments and execution **Collaboration & Quality Engineering** - Work with cross-functional teams (Data, Backend, Product) - Participate in requirement reviews and test planning - Mentor junior engineers and drive best practices **Must-Have Skills** - Strong programming skills in **Python** - Hands-on experience with **PySpark** - Strong expertise in **Google BigQuery (SQL, data validation, optimization)** - Experience with **ETL/ELT testing and data pipeline validation** - Experience in **API automation and backend testing** - Knowledge of **data warehousing and distributed systems** - Familiarity with **CI/CD and Git workflows** **Good-to-Have Skills** - Experience with **Playwright (UI automation)** - Exposure to **GCP cloud environment** - Experience with **data quality frameworks and reconciliation techniques** - Knowledge of **containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)** **Qualifications** - Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field - 68 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on automation - Experience working on **data platforms or large-scale systems is preferred** **Why Join Us?** - Work on large-scale, cloud-native data platforms - Opportunity to solve complex data and automation challenges - Collaborative and innovation-driven environment - Exposure to cutting-edge technologies in cloud and data engineering
