Controls & Platforms > Modelling & Analytics Module > Plant Monitoring & Reliability Plant Monitoring & Reliability Sub Module, within Modelling & Analytics Module (M&A), Part of Vestas Power Solutions, is responsible for the products and services related to Vestas Monitoring and Reliability solutions and offerings. We have a skilled and diverse team that consists of everything from Health Monitoring Engineers/Specialists and Reliability Engineers/ Specialists, Data engineers, Data Analysts, and Data Scientists. The department is responsible for developing high-quality Plant Monitoring Products & Solutions - Health Monitoring, Condition Monitoring, Power Quality Monitoring, Reliability and VTMs. This ranges across real-time data collection from thousands of power plants with Health Monitoring systems, and data analytics on a Health Monitoring & Reliability setup supporting multiple data applications, Diagnostics, Monitoring solutions for our customers. The goal is to bring down the cost of energy by leveraging the vast amount of data that Vestas collects and stores from power plants around the globe. You will be the core Data Scientist responsible for design and implementation of the Rx Data models & product offerings of Condition monitoring data. The primary scope of work will be developing and managing the data science models for CMS data. Responsibilities • Apply statistical and analytical methods to generate actionable insights supporting Vestas R&D and value chain performance • Perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve Turbine and Plant performance issues • Translate analytical findings into clear, business-relevant recommendations • Manage critical Power BI dashboards currently developed by external consultants, ensuring business continuity while guiding their transition to more automated and scalable solutions • Ensure dashboards are aligned with evolving business needs and performance tracking requirements • Build and maintain data pipelines and analytics workflows • Integrate data from multiple systems and sources into cohesive datasets • Ensure alignment between analytics deliverables and operational priorities • Continuously improve data models, workflows, and reporting capabilities • Contribute to the integration of AI and advanced analytics into performance analytics workflows • Identify opportunities to leverage AI to enhance insight generation, automation, and scalability • Help advance data-driven decision-making through innovative analytical approaches Qualifications • Bachelor's/Master's / PhD in Computer Science / Data Science / Statistics / Mathematics / STEM / Similar specialization • 5-7 years of experience in data science, data analytics, or similar roles • Experience working in engineering, R&D, or operational environments • Experience in performance analytics and business decision-making • Solid experience with • Python, SQL, or R • Power BI (dashboard maintenance and evolution) • Dataiku (data preparation, workflow design, and model development) or similar analytics platforms • Experience designing and maintaining data pipelines and analytics workflows • Solid understanding of data architecture and data integration across multiple systems Competencies • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach • Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and translate data into actionable insights • Accountable mindset with high sense of ownership and accountability of complex analytics use cases • Solid business understanding and ability to connect analytics to value chain performance • Knowledge of how and where to access relevant data across systems and domains • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills • Ability to translate technical analysis into clear decision support • Quality mindset, ensuring high standards in both data integrity and in building robust, fit-for-purpose solutions for the business, including consideration of systems engineering principles where relevant • Curiosity and motivation to support continuous improvement and innovation, including the application of AI in analytics What We Offer We offer you the opportunity to contribute to our work and to work in a multicultural and international company, where you have the possibility to improve your skills and develop professionally Additional Information Your primary workplace will be in Chennai, India.
