**Responsibilities** a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } Key Responsibilities Fire Protection & Prevention - Ensure effective implementation and maintenance of fire protection systems across plant facilities. - Monitor performance and readiness of fire water networks, hydrants, sprinklers, firefighting pumps, foam systems, and fire alarm systems. - Conduct periodic inspections of fire-fighting equipment and emergency response facilities. - Review fire safety requirements during engineering, construction, and commissioning activities. - Develop and implement fire prevention programs to eliminate potential fire hazards. Fire Safety Management - Conduct Fire Risk Assessments (FRA) and identify critical fire hazards. - Prepare and maintain fire emergency response plans, evacuation plans, and firefighting procedures. - Ensure compliance with National Building Code (NBC), Factory Act, Explosives Rules, Petroleum Rules, and applicable fire safety regulations. - Coordinate with local Fire Authorities and Emergency Services. Project & Construction Safety - Monitor safety compliance during civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning activities. - Implement Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems for hot work, confined space entry, excavation, lifting, and work-at-height activities. - Conduct Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) for project activities. - Ensure contractor compliance with company safety and fire protection standards. Emergency Preparedness & Response - Lead emergency response teams during fire incidents and industrial emergencies. - Organize and conduct fire drills, mock drills, evacuation exercises, and disaster management simulations. - Ensure firefighting personnel are trained and emergency response equipment remains operational. - Support incident command during emergencies and coordinate with external agencies. Incident Investigation & Compliance - Investigate fire incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions. - Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective and preventive actions. - Track closure of observations from safety audits and fire inspections. - Ensure timely reporting and compliance with statutory authorities. Training & Awareness - Conduct fire safety training programs, induction sessions, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns. - Train employees and contractors on emergency response, fire extinguisher usage, evacuation procedures, and rescue operations. - Develop fire and safety competency programs for employees and contractors. **Qualifications** - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Fire / Chemical / Industrial Safety) from a recognized university. - Experience in Thermal Power Plants, Power Projects, Heavy Industries, Refineries, Petrochemicals, Manufacturing, or Infrastructure Projects. - 4-8 years of relevant experience in Fire & Safety Management. - Exposure to greenfield thermal power project construction and commissioning will be highly preferred.
