Job Summary We are hiring an Engineer 3 – Senior Software Engineer with strong, hands‑on software engineering expertise and a passion for building scalable backend systems, shared services, and internal platforms. This is a highly hands‑on, development‑first role, not a coordination or oversight position. You will be expected to design, build, and own production‑grade systems end‑to‑end, writing significant amounts of high‑quality code while driving system design and architectural decisions. You will work on core engineering problems that impact multiple teams, improving reliability, scalability, performance, and developer productivity through well‑designed, extensible software solutions using Go, Java, or Python. What We’re Looking For (Must‑Have) Strong Hands‑On Development Expertise • Deep, hands‑on software development experience in at least one of Go, Java, or Python (with the ability to work across others when needed) • 5+ years of professional experience as a Software / Application Development Engineer, with substantial time spent writing and maintaining production code • Demonstrated ability to lead by example through code, not just design or reviews Design, Architecture & System Ownership • Proven experience designing, building, and owning: • Backend services and APIs • Shared libraries, frameworks, or internal platforms • Scalable, reliable, distributed systems • Strong command of: • Core software design principles (OOP, SOLID, clean architecture, modular design) • System design, service boundaries, and architectural trade‑offs • Scalability, performance optimization, and fault tolerance Engineering Fundamentals & Quality • Strong foundation in: • Data structures, algorithms, and problem‑solving • Writing efficient, maintainable, and testable code • High bar for: • Code quality, automated testing, documentation, and maintainability • Writing production‑ready software that balances correctness, performance, and readability Ownership & Execution • Experience owning features or systems through the full lifecycle: • Technical design and reviews • Implementation and testing • Production rollout and ongoing maintenance • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex production issues What You’ll Do • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and core application components • Write significant amounts of hands‑on code in Go, Java, or Python • Build and evolve shared libraries, frameworks, and internal platforms used across multiple teams • Apply strong software architecture and design principles to solve non‑trivial engineering problems • Improve system scalability, reliability, and performance through thoughtful design and implementation • Participate actively in: • Technical design discussions • Architecture and code reviews • Key engineering decisions • Partner with product and application teams to deliver robust, scalable, production‑ready solutions • Perform high‑quality code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and raise the overall engineering bar • Take technical ownership of critical components and drive their long‑term architectural evolution Nice to Have (Optional) • Experience designing or operating large‑scale distributed systems • Exposure to cloud‑based application architectures (AWS, GCP, Azure, or equivalent) • <s
