You’ll be in good company among our global community of experts leading the future of mainframe modernization. Experts who share knowledge openly and collaborate freely. In this role, you’ll design, build and maintain the high-volume business logic that runs on the mainframe. At the same time you’ll play a key role in refactoring legacy code to enable modern cloud and mobile applications to seamlessly interact with the mainframe’s core data. What you will do **Platform Engineering & Infrastructure** - Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available platform infrastructure. - Develop self-service platform capabilities that improve developer productivity and operational efficiency. - Standardise infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and operational processes across environments. - Drive platform reliability, scalability, and performance improvements. **DevOps & Automation** - Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software build, testing, deployment, and release processes. - Promote Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation-first practices across the organisation. - Improve deployment speed, consistency, and reliability through automation. - Integrate security and compliance checks into delivery pipelines. **Cloud & Containerisation** - Deploy and manage workloads on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. - Build, manage, and optimise container platforms using Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Docker. - Support cloud adoption, application modernisation, and migration initiatives. - Implement platform services that support cloud-native application development. **Reliability & Observability** - Implement enterprise monitoring, logging, and observability solutions. - Build dashboards, alerts, and operational insights that improve platform health and performance. - Drive Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices and operational excellence. - Support capacity planning, availability management, and disaster recovery readiness. **Security & Compliance** - Implement DevSecOps practices throughout the software delivery lifecycle. - Manage identity, access controls, secrets management, and certificate lifecycles. - Partner with security teams to ensure compliance with organisational and regulatory standards. - Address vulnerabilities and drive continuous security improvements. **Operational Support** - Provide L2/L3 support for cloud, platform, and deployment-related issues. - Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures for recurring incidents. - Participate in incident management and on-call support rotations as required. - Ensure high availability and operational stability of critical platforms. **Collaboration & Leadership** - Collaborate with development, architecture, security, infrastructure, and business teams. - Mentor engineers and champion DevOps and Platform Engineering best practices. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, reliability, and efficiency. Contribute to platform roadmaps and technology strategy discussions. **Who You Are** Required skills and experience - CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps - Source Control: Git - Scripting: Python, Shell, Bash, or PowerShell - Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Bicep/ARM - Container Platforms: Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker - Cloud Platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform - Monitoring & Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK, Dynatrace, New Relic, or AppDynamics Linux Administration and troubleshooting Preferred skills and experience - Platform Engineering and Developer Experience (DevEx) - Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) - DevSecOps practices - Service Mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd) - API Management platforms - Cloud cost optimisation (FinOps) Enterprise application hosting and middleware platforms **Being You** The “Kyn” in Kyndryl means kinship, which represents the strong bonds we have with each other, our customers and our communities.
