We at Simple energy are working towards accelerating by making them more accessible, affordable, secure and comfortable and we embrace the responsibility to lead the change that will make our world better, safer and more equitable for all. ********Job description: Strategic Sourcing**** ****Location: Yelahanka, Bangalore******** **You Will** The ********Strategic Sourcing******** Engineer – EMS & ECP will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing suppliers for electronic manufacturing services (EMS) and electronic components parts (ECP). The role involves managing supplier relationships, driving cost optimization, ensuring quality compliance, and supporting new product development (NPD) projects from a sourcing perspective. **To Be Successful, You Will Be Expected To** - Supplier Management & Development - Identify, evaluate, and onboard EMS and ECP suppliers (PCBA, connectors, sensors, controllers, wiring harness, etc.). - Drive supplier performance improvement in terms of cost, quality, delivery, and innovation. - Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and long-term agreements with suppliers. - Conduct supplier audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards. - Sourcing Strategy & Cost Management - Develop and execute sourcing strategies for electronic components and EMS partners aligned with business goals. - Work closely with design and engineering teams to support make/buy decisions and value engineering initiatives. - Analyze cost breakdowns and identify opportunities for cost reduction and localization. - Track market trends, raw material indices, and technology developments impacting sourcing. - NPD & Project Support - Collaborate with NPD, design, and quality teams to source components during the product development phase. - Ensure supplier readiness for prototype, pilot, and mass production builds. - Manage sourcing timelines to align with project milestones. - Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with Quality, Engineering, Planning, and Manufacturing teams for supplier qualification and issue resolution. - Work with Finance and Logistics to ensure smooth flow of materials and payments. - Support supply continuity planning and alternate sourcing for critical parts. ********You must have any or a combination of any of the following skills:******** - B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, or related field. - 2-6 years of experience in sourcing or procurement of EMS/Electronic Components. - Experience in EV, automotive, consumer electronics, or industrial electronics preferred. - Strong understanding of EMS processes (PCB assembly, SMT, testing, box build). - Knowledge of electronic components (semiconductors, passives, connectors, PCBs, sensors, controllers, etc.). - Experience in supplier negotiation, cost analysis, and contract management. - Familiarity with quality systems (ISO/TS/IATF) and PPAP, APQP processes. - Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.), and sourcing analytics tools. - Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
