Job Summary This job family is responsible for maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of the company's financial records and reporting in accordance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements. It oversees core accounting processes, including general ledger management, journal entries, reconciliations, fixed assets, capital expenditures, revenue recognition, cash flows, and financial close activities, providing timely and reliable financial information to support internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities • Extract, transform, validate, and analyze large datasets from multiple systems to support finance operations, reporting, reconciliations, and process decision-making. • Write and optimize SQL queries to retrieve, join, reconcile, and summarize large volumes of structured data accurately and efficiently. • Use Python or similar scripting tools to automate repetitive data preparation, validation, reporting, and exception identification activities. • Develop scalable data automation solutions to reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, and strengthen control effectiveness across accounting and operational processes. • Perform data quality checks, identify inconsistencies, investigate root causes, and partner with stakeholders to resolve data gaps or process issues. • Translate business requirements into data logic, reporting outputs, and automation workflows by working closely with finance operations teams. • Support process improvement initiatives by applying data analysis, trend review, and automation opportunities to improve productivity, timeliness, and decision support. • Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities for assigned R2R , P2P or AR processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of close deliverables. • Analyze balance sheet accounts, prepare trend commentary, and report exceptions, risks, and improvement opportunities. • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, SOX requirements and reporting standards. • Identify process gaps, recommend improvements and support automation or standardization initiatives within reconciliations, journal entry processes and financial reporting. Education & Experience Recommended Professional qualification preferred: • Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost and Management Accountant (CMA India) or Certified Public Accountant. • Certification in Python, SQL or any Automation related tool • Typically, 2+ years of experience • Experience in driving Data analysis and Automation Knowledge & Skills • General Ledger Accounting and Balance Sheet Review • Accounting Standards and Policies • Stakeholder Management • Good business application skills - Microsoft Excel • Scripting Languages: VBScript/VBA • Database: SQL Server & MS Access • Tools: SharePoint Designer, Power BI & Power Apps • Good communication skills.
