LNT/GL-CI/1792852 • DEIC-L&T Precision Engineering & Systems IC • Bengaluru • Posted On 16 Jul 2026 • End Date 12 Jan 2027 • Required Experience17 - 20 years Skills Knowledge & Posting Location Engineering R&D Minimum Qualification Bachelor of Technology (BTech) Job Description Group Lead – Central Inverters Role Purpose Provide end-to-end engineering leadership for power electronics products and system architectures, driving innovation, product robustness, cost competitiveness, and scalable platforms across AC-DC, DC-DC, DC-AC, Solar Inverter (Central and String), PCS, EV Charger and Electrolyser Power Supply and other power conversion Products and systems. Key Responsibilities 1. Product & System Architecture • Define product and system architecture for: • Solar Inverters (String, Central) • BESS PCS (Grid-following & Grid-forming) • EV Chargers (AC & DC Fast) • Electrolyser Power Supplies • Establish platform-based designs to enable reuse across power levels and applications. • Own system-level requirements: efficiency, power density, reliability, safety, grid compliance. 2. Engineering Execution & Technical Governance • Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams of Electrical and Mechanical, System control Engineering • Define engineering standards, design guidelines, and review mechanisms. • Own design reviews, technical risk management, and design trade-off decisions. • Ensure DFMEA, PFMEA, and functional safety concepts are embedded early. 3. Product Development & Lifecycle Ownership Own complete product lifecycle: Concept Architecture Prototype Validation Certification Production • - Field support • Implement V-Model / Stage-Gate / APQP product development processes. • Drive design for manufacturability (DFM), cost (DFC), and serviceability (DFS). • Lead cost-down, value engineering, and platform reuse initiatives. 4. Compliance, Standards & Certification • Ensure compliance with: • Grid Codes: IEC, IEEE, UL • Safety: IEC 62109, UL 1741, IEC 61851 • EMC/EMI: IEC 61000 series • Functional Safety: IEC 61508 (where applicable) • Interface with certification agencies (UL, TÜV, Intertek). • Own system-level validation strategies and test coverage. 5. Manufacturing, Quality & Field Reliability • Partner with manufacturing for NPI, ramp-up, and yield improvement. • Lead field failure analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective actions. • Drive reliability engineering and accelerated life testing. • Enable localization and second-source strategies with supply chain. 6. Business, Customer & Stakeholder Engagement • Act as technical interface in customer interactions, RFQs, and pre-sales. • Align product strategy with market needs, cost targets, and revenue goals. • Mentor senior technical leaders and build long-term engineering capability. • Collaborate with Product Management, Sales, Operations, and Service teams. Key KPIs • Time-to-market adherence • Product efficiency, reliability & cost targets • Certification success rate • Field failure rate (PPM) • Platform reuse and engineering productivity Education • BE / BTech in Electrical / Power Electronics • MTech / PhD preferred Experience • 15-25+ years in power electronics product and system development • Proven leadership across high-power Solar inverter, PCS, Electrolyser and Ev Charger product in MW scale Range • Experience with global product deployment and certification • Should have handed team of 25-50 Engineering • Should be have experience of product/System Engineering and advanced development.
