**Job description:  Indirect Purchase** **Location: Yelahanka, Bangalore** **About The Gig** **The Indirect Pu**rchase is responsible for end-to-end procurement of **CAPEX items**, including machinery, manufacturing equipment, tools, dies, testing equipment, automation systems, facility/utility equipment, and major engineering services. The role drives strategic sourcing, vendor development, technical-commercial evaluations, contract finalization, and ensures timely installation/commissioning of capital assets within budget.   **What youll do** 1. CAPEX Planning & Sourcing - Manage the full lifecycle of CAPEX procurement: requirement gathering, RFQ, negotiation, vendor selection, PO release, delivery, and installation support. - Prepare cost estimates and support annual CAPEX budgeting. - Conduct technical-commercial comparisons in coordination with engineering, projects, and operations teams. - Identify and evaluate global and domestic equipment suppliers and technology partners. **2. Vendor Management & Development** - Develop and maintain a strong supplier base for machinery, tooling, and engineering services. - Conduct vendor capability assessments, factory audits, and technical evaluations. - Maintain strategic relationships to support long-term partnerships and service continuity. **3. Negotiation & Contract Management** - Lead negotiations on pricing, warranty, payment terms, delivery schedules, and after-sales service. - Finalize and manage contracts, including AMC, SLA, warranty agreements, and long-term service contracts. - Ensure risk mitigation through clear contractual clauses and legal compliance. **4. Project Coordination (Installation & Commissioning)** - Collaborate with project, plant engineering, safety, and operations teams for equipment installation and commissioning. - Track project timelines, expedite deliveries, and resolve issues with vendors. - Ensure documentation for calibration, quality checks, performance tests, and safety certifications. **5. Cost Optimization & Compliance** - Drive cost reduction initiatives through benchmarking, multi-vendor sourcing, and technology alternatives. - Ensure compliance with procurement policies, approval matrix, audit requirements, and CAPEX governance. - Maintain accurate records for capital asset procurement and support finance in capitalization. **6. Team Leadership (Optional based on seniority)** - Lead a small team handling capital procurement. - Train team members in technical evaluation, negotiation, and vendor management. **What You Bring** - Bachelors Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering (preferred). - MBA in Operations/Supply Chain is an added advantage. - **8–15 years** of experience in CAPEX procurement in manufacturing/automotive/EV/heavy engineering environments. - Strong experience in machinery, tooling, automation, and plant equipment procurement. - Cost savings vs. CAPEX budget. - On-time equipment delivery & installation. - Vendor performance & service uptime. - Compliance to procurement and audit requirements. - Project closure documentation & asset capitalization accuracy.
