Role Summary We are seeking a hands-on Infrastructure Test Automation / IaC Engineer to support the testing, validation, and automation of infrastructure changes across enterprise environments. The role focuses on ensuring the quality, reliability, scalability, and security of infrastructure deployments spanning Windows, Linux, Networks, Databases, Information Security, Virtualization, and Cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong automation skills, experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and a passion for improving infrastructure quality through automation and continuous integration practices. This role is primarily an individual contributor position that works closely with Engineering, Operations, DevOps, and Security teams. Key Responsibilities Infrastructure Test Automation • Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated tests for infrastructure changes and deployments. • Validate infrastructure changes across development, test, staging, and production environments. • Analyze infrastructure changes and identify potential impacts to applications and business services. • Develop test scenarios, test scripts, and test data to ensure adequate coverage. • Execute infrastructure testing activities and support issue identification and resolution. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or equivalent. • Ensure infrastructure definitions are version-controlled, reusable, and consistently deployed across environments. • Support automation of provisioning, configuration, and deployment activities. • Contribute to infrastructure standardization and automation best practices CI/CD & Automation • Integrate infrastructure testing into CI/CD pipelines. • Support automated validation of infrastructure deployments and rollbacks. • Work with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or equivalent to improve deployment quality and efficiency. • Leverage automation to reduce manual effort and improve reliability Collaboration & Quality Assurance • Collaborate with infrastructure engineers, architects, security teams, and application teams to understand requirements and testing needs. • Participate in requirement reviews, test planning, execution, and defect tracking activities. • Support root cause analysis and remediation of infrastructure-related issues. • Maintain testing documentation, procedures, and automation artifacts Monitoring & Operational Support • Utilize monitoring and observability tools to validate infrastructure health and performance. • Assist in incident investigation and troubleshooting activities. • Track testing progress, quality metrics, and automation coverage. Required Technical Skills Mandatory • Hands-on experience with one or more scripting languages: • Python • PowerShell • Bash • Java • Understanding of Infrastructure Testing Lifecycle: • Test Planning • Test Design • Test Execution • Defect Management • Test Reporting • Infrastructure administration and troubleshooting concepts. • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools: • Terraform • Ansible • CloudFormation • Chef • Puppet • Working knowledge of CI/CD tools: • Jenkins • GitLab CI • Azure DevOps • Experience with Git/GitHub version control. • Knowledge of Windows, Linux, Networking, Database, and Security fundamentals. • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure Preferred • Monitoring and observability tools: • Dynatrace • Grafana • Prometheus • Datadog • ELK/EFK Stack knowledge. • Cloud and Infrastructure Automation certifications. • Understanding of ITIL processes and ServiceNow. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline. • 3 to 8 years of experience in Infrastructure Testing, Infrastructure Automation, DevOps, or related disciplines. • Experience supporting infrastructure change validation and testing activities. • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. • Good verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams. • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Flexible to support infrastructure change windows and planned releases when required.
