Position: Instrumentation Maintenance Engineer – Steel Plant Business: Siemens Digital Industries – Plant Maintenance Services (PMS) Grip Title: Service Technician Employment Type: Contractual - Fixed term Project based (Extension / Conversion Depends on Organization or Individual performance) Location: Chhattisgarh Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Instrumentation Maintenance Engineer with hands-on experience in Steel/Metal Plants , particularly in Caster, Rolling Mill and Tunnel Furnace operations. The role involves planning, execution and troubleshooting of instrumentation maintenance activities, calibration of field instruments, coordination with maintenance teams and clients, and ensuring safe and reliable plant operations. Key Responsibilities • Execute maintenance activities in Caster, Rolling Mill and Tunnel Furnace. • Plan, organize and coordinate day-to-day instrumentation maintenance activities. • Provide technical expertise and guidance to supervisors, foremen and technicians. • Develop maintenance strategies, work instructions and maintenance methods. • Create and implement preventive maintenance procedures for plant instrumentation. • Plan and schedule routine maintenance of plant equipment and instruments. • Schedule and coordinate required materials and manpower for maintenance activities. • Monitor work-in-progress and completed activities to ensure compliance with specifications. • Prepare daily progress reports, maintenance logs and other required documentation. • Troubleshoot instrumentation malfunctions, identify root causes and replace defective parts/components. • Perform calibration of different types of field instruments, including flow meters, pressure devices, temperature sensors and related instrumentation. • Maintain good knowledge of field instruments such as Flow Meters, Orifice, Analyzers, Ultrasonic Level Transmitters, Vortex Flow Meters, etc. • Work with communication/interfaces involving external field devices such as IMCCs, VVVF Drives, ACBs, Relays, MFMs, Process Parameter Displays, Gas Analyzers, Profibus Encoders, etc. • Ensure compliance with safety systems, EHS requirements and safety procedures while executing maintenance activities. • Coordinate effectively with internal teams and clients and maintain strong working relationships. • Prepare reports, presentations and maintenance documentation using MS Excel and PowerPoint. Qualification & Experience • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical or Electronics Engineering. • 4–5 years of relevant experience in instrumentation/electrical maintenance. • Hands-on maintenance experience in Caster, Rolling Mill and/or Tunnel Furnace. • Steel Plant / Metal Plant experience is mandatory. • Strong experience in instrumentation maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration. • Good knowledge of industrial field instruments and communication with electrical/automation systems. • Good coordination, communication and client-handling skills. • Good working knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint. • Candidates should be able to join within one month from the date of offer.
