Java Backend Developer Altimetrik Company: Altimetrik Role: Java Backend Developer / Senior Java Backend Developer Experience: 6–12 Years Locations: Chennai | Bangalore | Hyderabad Work Mode: Hybrid Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are looking for experienced Java Backend Developers with 6–12 years of strong hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Core Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, and preferably exposure to Cloud, Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes. Must-Have Skills • Strong hands-on experience in Core Java / Java 8+ / Java 11+ • Strong knowledge of OOPs, Collections, Multithreading, Exception Handling and Design Patterns • Excellent experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot • Strong experience in Microservices Architecture • Hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs • Good knowledge of Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA and Hibernate • Strong experience with SQL databases such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL or SQL Server • Good understanding of NoSQL databases is an advantage • Strong understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms • Experience with Git and version-control practices • Experience with JUnit / Mockito or equivalent unit-testing frameworks • Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology Good-to-Have Skills • Spring Cloud • Apache Kafka / RabbitMQ • AWS / Azure / GCP • Docker and Kubernetes • CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Azure DevOps • Redis / caching • API Gateway and service discovery • OAuth2 / JWT / Spring Security • Monitoring and logging tools • Experience with event-driven architecture These additions are consistent with recent Altimetrik postings that mention Spring Cloud, event-driven architecture, cloud configuration, Kubernetes, authentication/authorization, and testing. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop and maintain scalable Java backend applications • Develop and deploy microservices using Spring Boot • Design and implement secure and scalable REST APIs • Work with relational and non-relational databases • Develop high-quality, reusable and maintainable code • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions and architecture decisions • Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis • Optimize application performance, scalability and reliability • Develop unit and integration tests • Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps and other engineering teams • Participate in the complete SDLC, from requirement analysis through deployment and production support • Follow coding standards, security practices and engineering best practices • Mentor junior developers where required Candidate Profile Looking for candidates who have: • 6–12 years of overall software development experience • Strong backend development experience using Java + Spring Boot • Hands-on experience working with Microservices • Strong experience in REST API development • Good database and SQL knowledge • Experience working on enterprise-scale applications • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills • Good communication and stakeholder-management skills • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative Agile environment Education • BE/B.Tech/MCA/M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline preferred. • Equivalent practical experience can also be considered.
