While the exact responsibilities vary by team, Lead Software Engineer roles generally include the following Key Responsibilities Own a product or functional area from requirement gathering through production deployment. Design and develop both frontend (web & mobile) and backend components for large-scale applications. Create high-level and low-level system designs for the end-to-end flow from UI to backend to database. Proactively involve in deepdiving, solutioning, unblocking, debugging, and tracking, Execution excellence & ownership to take a requirement to production on time with quality. Be a point of contact for team members on technical & functional queries. Build and maintain cross-platform, responsive frontends, and scalable microservices and APIs. Ensure reliability, availability, performance, and scalability of systems. Review code and enforce engineering best practices. Mentor and guide junior developers and senior engineers. Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, QA, and other stakeholders. Drive technical decision-making and technology stack selection. Improve code quality, test coverage, documentation, and deployment processes.
