**Job Title:** Reconciliation Java Technical Lead **Department** : CEFS-Reconciliation **About Business Line/Function** The IT Reconciliations Department is managing the reconciliations (Financial, Referential, Systems to Systems, ...) for a number of BNP Paribas's domains (Global Markets, Global Banking, Security Services, Wealth Management, ...) via specialized expert systems (FIS DIM/Intellimatch, Pega PCM, Socrates). Our internal clients are working 24/7 at a worldwide level with a high level of reliability. IT systems are integral to the business and are a key part of the value proposition to clients. These IT systems range from industry standard products for standard process automation to internally developed, often, market leading IT applications. The IT teams owning these IT systems are made up of functions that include Technical and Application production support, Business Analysis & Project Management, Development & Maintenance and Quality Control. BNP Paribas India Solutions is the key partner in all IT functions and has interactions with colleagues in other locations including Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, Singapore & Hong Kong. This partnership ranges from sharing the IT workload, executing global strategy to owning global applications offshore. The technology and engineering landscape is wide, encompassing almost all techniques and platforms. It continues to evolve and transform with the market with the business continuing to invest in it. To ensure our efficiency and alignment with the market expectations, we have to ensure that both our architecture and our technologies are up to date and aligned with the most efficient and reliable standards. **Position Purpose** The Reconciliation Java Technical Lead will lead the transformation of the CEFS Recon platform into a technically robust, cloud‑native platform. The position is vital for shaping up the technical vision, strategy and execution of the Recon initiatives. The role is expected to define the Java micro‑service landscape, streaming pipelines, persistence strategy, CI/CD and cloud‑deployment model (Kubernetes/Docker), guaranteeing high availability, scalability, performance and security. Keep the platform reliable, future ready and aligned with client service standards. The position has a strong focus on stability, flexibility, and expertise to always guarantee the proper Clients’ expectations. Working in an international Clients base environment but also as part of an Offshore organization, the capacity to interact in a respectful and easy way with both his/her Clients, Management, and team to find compromises while guaranteeing the proper organization and seamless relations is a must. This position requires strong leadership, communication, and adaptability to navigate the complexities of working in a globally distributed environment. **Responsibilities** Direct Responsibilities - Ensure system reliability, scalability, stability and security by implementing appropriate design patterns and architectural principles. - Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and recommend enhancements to optimize performance. - Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to drive innovation. - Design the Java micro‑service landscape, CI/CD pipeline, container‑orchestration (Kubernetes/Docker) and infrastructure-as-code, and monitoring tools. - Establish security‑by‑design patterns and embed them in all solutions. - Ensure that all solutions are well-documented and align with industry’s best practices. - Own API and message‑schema contracts for all inbound/outbound feeds, manage versioning and backward compatibility. - Define data‑lineage, master‑data‑management and data‑quality controls required for auditability - Conduct architectural and code reviews, apply security controls, enforce best practices, and mentor junior engineers – all in line with the organization’s architectural standards. - Champion DevOps automation (shift‑left testing, shift‑right monitoring) and drive an “automation‑first” mindset to reduce manual hand‑offs. - Produce and maintain architectural documentation, user manuals, SOPs and materials. Contributing Responsibilities - Proficiency in business analysis tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio) - Familiarity with software development methodologies - Drive continuous improvement initiatives: DevSecOps adoption, automated contract testing, observability - Quick to learn and adapt - Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills - Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities. - Good Team player - Someone who could have long-term commitment with the team and organization **Specific Qualifications** - 8-10 years total experience, minimum 5 years in the Banking/Financial Reconciliation domain and 5 years in Java architecture roles. - A proven experience in multi-expertise team management in an international environment, - An experience in an Onshore/Offshore would be a key factor, - A very good English level is mandatory, Qualification : Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business or a related field; Master’s degree or certifications such as TOGAF are a plus. **Skills Referential (Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities)** Technical & Soft Skills: - Strong expertise in Java, microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and event-driven architecture - Hands on experience in software development using Java/J2EE technologies, frameworks (e.g. Spring, Hibernate), messaging (e.g. MQ) - Deep understanding of software design patterns, principles, and best practices. - Strong understanding of cloud platforms and cloud-native architectures. - Expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs and integrating with external systems. - Proficiency in working with databases: SQL (Oracle, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB). - Hands-on experience
