**Job Title :: Lead Data Engineer** **Location :: Pune (Remote)** **Minimum relevant years of experience :: 10+ Years** **Must have skills:** - Oracle Golden Gate - Change Data Capture (CDC) - Cloud experience (Azure/AWS/OCI) - Heterogenous Architecture **Job Description:** - The Lead Data Engineer (Oracle GoldenGate) is the senior technical authority responsible for leading engineering teams in the implementation of Oracle GoldenGate solutions to replicate authoritative operational databases hosted on-premise and in AWS into Microsoft Azure Fabric (OneLake). - The role ensures that replication is delivered with accuracy, performance, resilience, and operational robustness, producing stable, production-grade GoldenGate implementations while safeguarding technical integrity. The Lead Data Engineer acts as the primary escalation point for complex replication challenges. - This is a hands-on engineering leadership position focused on GoldenGate expertise, implementation excellence, and consistent, standardized execution. **Key Responsibilities** - Lead the technical implementation of Oracle GoldenGate replication solutions from development through production release, ensuring full alignment with approved solution designs. - Provide hands-on engineering leadership, working closely with Architecture, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver secure, scalable, and production-ready GoldenGate implementations. - Translate architectural designs into robust, resilient solutions, enforcing reusable standards and consistent implementation patterns. - Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex replication, performance, and data integrity issues. - Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks related to database design, performance, networking, and legacy environments, partnering with the Agile Technical Project Manager to manage dependencies and maintain alignment with the agreed delivery plan. - Define and implement validation, reconciliation, monitoring, and operational readiness standards for replication environments. - Mentor engineers and champion disciplined, standardized GoldenGate engineering practices. **Required Skills & Experience** - Experience leading Data Engineering projects - Strong working knowledge of database replication and Change Data Capture (CDC) using Oracle GoldenGate - Strong background in data engineering in cloud data platforms and DevOps practices - Strong leadership, communication, and ownership mindset **Desirable Skills & Experience** - Working knowledge of Azure Data Services, including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, storage, and security **About Ascendion:** - Ascendion is an AI-native software engineering disruptor helping businesses innovate faster, smarter, and with greater impact.
