Key Responsibilities: • Design the complete high-pressure hydraulic system (3,000–5,000 PSI) including pumps, valves, hoses, fittings, and filtration • Design/selection of high-pressure lift cylinders • Selection of pressure pump • Calculation of required system flow rate • Sizing of all pressure lines and cylinder ports according to fluid velocity • Selection of spool proportional directional control valve equivalent handling the pressure range and flow rate • Thermal Evaluation: Evaluation of heat generation caused by pressure drops across hydraulic system and cooling required Required Skills & Competencies: • High-pressure hydraulic system design, pump/valve/cylinder sizing, flow and velocity calculations, proportional control circuits • Working knowledge of PTO/pump interfaces, directional control valves, counterbalance/PO check valves, filtration, and reservoir sizing • Hydraulic schematic design and detailing • Cylinder seal design for high-pressure service Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field • 8+ years of experience in hydraulic system and/or heavy mobile equipment design (hoists, cranes, or similar truck-mounted equipment) Roles and Responsibilities Hydraulic engineer will deliver a complete high-pressure hydraulic system specification — including custom cylinders, pump, proportional valve package, hoses, fittings, and filtration — along with final 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings.
