Lead Engineer- Python (PostgreSQL)

Job description

Overview We are looking for a Lead Python Developer with strong expertise in PostgreSQL and telecom domain exposure to drive next-generation digital transformation initiatives. This role involves building scalable backend systems, enabling OSS/BSS integrations, and supporting telecom clients in areas such as network automation, service orchestration, and customer experience platforms Responsibilities • Lead end-to-end design and development of backend systems using Python • Build and optimize data-driven applications leveraging PostgreSQL • Work on telecom-specific platforms including OSS/BSS systems • Design APIs and microservices for seamless system integrations • Drive network automation and service provisioning workflows • Collaborate with client stakeholders, product owners, and cross-functional teams • Mentor team members, enforce coding standards, and conduct reviews • Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of applications Requirements Required Skills & Qualifications • Strong experience in Python (Django / Flask / FastAPI) • Deep expertise in PostgreSQL: • Performance tuning and query optimization • Indexing, partitioning, and schema design • Solid understanding of REST APIs and microservices architecture • Experience working with telecom systems: • OSS/BSS platforms • Order management, service provisioning, or billing systems • Hands-on experience with ORMs (SQLAlchemy / Django ORM) • Exposure to cloud environments (AWS / Azure / GCP) • Proficiency in Git and CI/CD practices • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills • Telecom Domain Expertise (Preferred) • Understanding of telecom frameworks such as: • TM Forum (eTOM, SID, Open APIs) • Experience in areas like: • Network inventory management • Service orchestration • 5G / Fiber / Broadband systems • Integration experience with third-party telecom platforms • Preferred Qualifications • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) • Knowledge of event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ) • Exposure to data engineering or ETL pipelines • Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana) • Education • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
