**About the Role** We are looking for a skilled **Java Backend Engineer** to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in backend development, cloud technologies, and modern software engineering practices, and will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions. **Key Responsibilities** **Backend Development** - Design, develop, test, and maintain **Java-based backend applications**. - Build and enhance **RESTful APIs and microservices**. - Translate business requirements into scalable and efficient technical solutions. - Write clean, maintainable, and high-quality code following best practices. - Ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications. **System Design & Architecture** - Contribute to application design, architecture, and technical decision-making. - Implement scalable and reliable solutions with **fault tolerance and high availability**. - Participate in design and code reviews to ensure quality standards. - Improve system performance, scalability, and reliability. **Cloud & Modern Engineering Practices** - Develop and deploy applications in **cloud environments (GCP/AWS/Azure)**. - Work with **containerization and orchestration tools** (Docker, Kubernetes). - Build applications aligned with **cloud-native principles**. - Support modernization initiatives and adoption of new technologies. **DevOps & Operations** - Work with **CI/CD pipelines** to automate build, test, and deployments. - Collaborate with teams on **monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting**. - Debug and resolve production issues in distributed systems. - Follow best practices in **automation and infrastructure management**. **Collaboration & Quality** - Collaborate with product managers, architects, and stakeholders. - Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint deliverables. - Maintain high coding standards and ensure quality through testing. - Contribute to documentation, including technical designs and runbooks. **Required Skills & Experience** **Core Technical Skills** - Strong experience in **Java and Spring Boot** development. - Hands-on experience with **backend systems, APIs, and microservices architecture**. - Good understanding of **object-oriented programming and design patterns**. **Cloud & DevOps** - Experience with **cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure)**. - Familiarity with **Docker, Kubernetes**, and containerized applications. - Experience with **CI/CD tools, Git workflows, and automation**. - Knowledge of **Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)** is a plus. **Data & Integration** - Experience with **relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)**. - Familiarity with **NoSQL databases** is a plus. - Understanding of **event-driven architectures and messaging systems**. **Nice to Have** - Exposure to frontend technologies such as **React or Angular**. - Experience with **monitoring and observability tools**. - Familiarity with **Big Data or distributed systems** concepts. **Soft Skills** - Strong **problem-solving and analytical skills**. - Good **communication and collaboration abilities**. - Ability to work in a **fast-paced Agile environment**. - Self-driven, proactive, and committed to continuous learning. **Qualifications** - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. - Relevant experience in **software development and backend engineering**.
