The Mainframe Assembler professional will design, develop, and maintain high-performance assembler programs on IBM mainframe environments, ensuring stability, scalability, and adherence to enterprise standards. Day-to-day activities include analyzing business and technical requirements, writing and optimizing assembler code, debugging complex issues, and performing unit and integration testing. The role collaborates closely with application developers, architects, business analysts, and operations teams to support existing mainframe applications and deliver new features or enhancements. Responsibilities also include creating technical documentation, participating in code reviews, supporting production deployments, and contributing to continuous improvement of mainframe development practices. **Qualifications** - Strong proficiency in Mainframe Assembler programming, with experience in coding, debugging, and optimizing high-performance applications. - Hands-on experience with core mainframe environments and tools (e.g., z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, and commonly used mainframe utilities). - Knowledge of mainframe data management concepts such as VSAM files, sequential files, and basic database interaction (e.g., DB2 or equivalent). - Experience in software development life cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, unit testing, integration testing, and production support. - Ability to analyze complex legacy code, troubleshoot production incidents, and implement stable, well-documented fixes and enhancements. - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to performance, reliability, and maintainability. - Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional, global teams in a hybrid on-site/remote setup. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - Experience in the banking, financial services, insurance, or large enterprise domains is an advantage. - <
