Monitoring and Evaluation Expert- Discom / Power Utility

Job description

We are looking for a Senior Utility Analytics Expert with 5+ years of experience in the power utilities/DISCOM sector, with strong expertise in analytics, dashboarding, MIS reporting, energy accounting, loss analytics, metering analytics, and operational performance monitoring. The candidate will be responsible for analyzing utility and smart-metering data, developing actionable insights, monitoring key operational and commercial performance indicators, and supporting data-driven decision-making for power distribution utilities. Role & responsibilities • Analyze power utility/DISCOM data to identify operational, commercial, and energy-loss trends. • Develop and maintain MIS reports, dashboards, and management reports for operational and business performance monitoring. • Conduct data analysis to identify abnormal consumption, technical/commercial losses, meter issues, and other exceptions. • Coordinate with IT, metering, operations, commercial, and utility teams to understand data requirements and resolve data-quality issues. • Prepare periodic and ad-hoc analytical reports and presentations for senior management. • Support utility stakeholders with data-driven insights and recommendations for improving operational performance. Preferred candidate profile • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar BI/dashboarding tools. • Working knowledge of SQL, Excel, Python, or other data-analysis tools. • Familiarity with smart metering, AMI/MDM systems, meter data, and utility digital platforms.
