**Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer sheet Metal & CAD Design** **Reference: SMART7482\\_HM** **Years of Experience: 3-5 years** Role Summary We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with strong expertise in sheet metal design, GD&T, and CAD modeling using SolidWorks. The candidate will be responsible for developing mechanical designs, manufacturing drawings, and engineering documentation while ensuring compliance with design standards and product requirements. Experience with PLM systems such as Enovia will be an added advantage. Key Responsibilities - Design and develop sheet metal components, assemblies, and products using SolidWorks. - Create and maintain 3D CAD models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and engineering documentation. - Apply GD&T principles in component and assembly design. - Perform design reviews and ensure manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with engineering standards. - Develop detailed BOMs and support engineering change management activities. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and project management. - Maintain design data and documentation within PLM systems. - Support prototype development, testing, and product validation activities. - Participate in product improvement and cost optimization initiatives. Must-Have Skills - BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. - Strong expertise in **GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)**. - Hands-on experience in **Sheet Metal Design**. - Strong CAD modeling and drafting skills. - Proficiency in **SolidWorks**. - Ability to create manufacturing drawings and engineering documentation. - Good understanding of manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacturing principles. Good-to-Have Skills - Experience with **Enovia** or other PLM/PDM tools. - Knowledge of product lifecycle management processes. - Experience in new product development (NPD/NPI). - Exposure to design validation and engineering change management processes. Educational Qualifications - **BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering** (Mandatory).
