Everything that makes you unique is welcome; join us and let’s build what’s next - together! We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Principal DevOps Engineer to lead our infrastructure strategy, scale our cloud environments, and champion engineering excellence across our organization. As a Principal Engineer, you will be the technical cornerstone for our DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices. You will drive the architectural vision for our deployment pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and operational reliability, ensuring our platform is scalable, secure, and highly available. In this role, you will partner closely with engineering leadership and software development teams (working heavily with microservices and cloud-native applications) to streamline the software development lifecycle and foster a culture of automation and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities • Architectural Leadership: Design, build, and oversee highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure architectures (AWS, GCP, or Azure). • CI/CD Strategy: Define and own the enterprise-wide continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) strategy. Build advanced, zero-downtime deployment pipelines for complex microservices architectures. • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Champion the use of IaC methodologies (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) to ensure infrastructure is reproducible, easily managed, and fully automated. • Mentorship & Guidance: Act as a technical mentor and coach for senior, mid-level, and junior DevOps engineers. Elevate the technical baseline of the team through code reviews, architectural reviews, and best-practice advocacy. • Reliability & Performance: Drive Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles. Implement robust monitoring, alerting, and observability strategies using modern toolstacks (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk) to proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks. • Security & Compliance: Partner with the Information Security team to embed security into the CI/CD pipeline (DevSecOps). Ensure infrastructure compliance with industry standards and best practices. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with development teams to ensure applications are designed for scale and operability from day one. Required Qualifications • Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in DevOps, SRE, or Software Engineering, with at least 3+ years functioning in a Principal, Staff, or Lead architect capacity. • Cloud Expertise: Deep, hands-on expertise with major public cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, and/or Azure) and their native services. • Containerization & Orchestration: Mastery of Kubernetes, Docker, and service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio) in large-scale production environments. • Automation & IaC: Expert-level knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet. • Scripting/Coding: Strong programming/scripting skills in Python, Go, Bash, or Java to build automation tools and integrate systems. • CI/CD Tools: Extensive experience with enterprise CI/CD platforms (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Spinnaker). • System Design: Proven track record of designing fault-tolerant, distributed systems and managing high-traffic, mission-critical applications. • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications • Experience migrating monolithic applications to cloud-native microservices architectures. • Familiarity with Spring Boot and Java ecosystems. • Prior experience supporting infrastructure for AI/ML engineering or large-scale data platforms. • Advanced cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Kubernetes CKA/CKS). What We Offer • Competitive compensation package (base salary, bonus, and equity). • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance. • Flexible working hours and remote/hybrid work option
