Production Officer

Job description

Role & responsibilities • Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily production activities as per production schedules. • Ensure achievement of production targets while maintaining quality and productivity standards. • Monitor production processes, batch operations, material consumption, and process parameters. • Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Stores, and Production Planning teams for smooth plant operations. • Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, raw materials, machinery, and other resources. • Monitor production losses, wastage, rejections, and process deviations and take corrective actions. • Maintain production records, MIS reports, batch records, and other manufacturing documentation. • Ensure adherence to SOPs, GMP/quality procedures, safety standards, and plant operating guidelines. • Identify opportunities for process improvement, productivity enhancement, and cost reduction. • Supervise and guide production operators/workers and ensure effective manpower deployment. • Support troubleshooting of production/process-related issues in coordination with Maintenance and Quality teams. • Ensure proper housekeeping and implementation of 5S within the production area. • Participate in audits, investigations, root-cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement initiatives. • Ensure compliance with applicable EHS and statutory safety requirements. Preferred candidate profile • Hands-on experience in manufacturing/production operations. • Good understanding of production planning, process control, batch manufacturing, and shop-floor operations. • Knowledge of SOPs, 5S, safety practices, quality systems, and production documentation. • Strong manpower handling and team coordination skills. • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Proficiency in MS Excel and production MIS/reporting.
