JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for program governance, planning, monitoring, cost control, and execution of EHV/HV transmission EPC projects (UG Cables & Substations). The role ensures timely, cost-effective, and compliant project delivery while coordinating cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Finance, Contracts, and key stakeholders. Key Result Areas: 1. Project Planning & Scheduling • Lead execution of EHV substation and underground cable projects. • Develop project schedules using tools like Primavera / MS Project. • Monitor progress and ensure milestone achievement. 2. Cost Control & Budget Management • Prepare and control project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and cost baselines • Identify cost-saving opportunities and lead value engineering initiatives • Ensure alignment with Cost Excellence frameworks 3. Project Monitoring & Performance Management • Establish Project management dashboards and KPIs. • Conduct periodic project reviews, MIS reporting, and management presentations • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) 4. Contract & Commercial Management • Track EPC contracts and subcontractor performance • Manage costs, contracts and billing • Support contract negotiations and dispute resolution • Ensure compliance with contractual milestones • Ensure timely Invoicing and collection of payment from clients 5. Risk & Issue Management • Develop and maintain risk registers • Identify: • Land acquisition risks • RoW (Right of Way) challenges • Supply chain constraints • Drive risk mitigation strategies and escalation frameworks 6. Procurement Coordination • Align procurement schedules with project timelines • Monitor vendor performance and material delivery schedules • Ensure long-lead items (e.g., transformers, GIS) are expedited 7. Engineering Coordination • Interface with engineering teams for: • Design approvals • Route alignment • Track engineering deliverables against plan 8. Construction & Site Coordination • Monitor progress of: • Foundation, erection, stringing • Substation works (AIS/GIS, control systems) • EHV / HV Cable Laying & termination • Pre-Commissioning activities • Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards • Ensure adherence to IS/IEC/IEEE standards. • Ensure adherence to the statutory compliance • Resolve technical issues at site. 9. Team Leadership • Lead cross-functional teams. • Drive performance and collaboration. • Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence and accountability. 10. Reporting & Governance • Publish weekly/monthly Project governance reports to leadership • Maintain documentation for audits and compliance Key Deliverables: • On-time project completion (schedule adherence) • Revenue and collection • Budget adherence / Cost savings achieved • Client satisfaction • Safety compliance • Accurate management dashboards and reporting • Reduced project risks and improved predictability • Improved contractor/vendor performance • Qualifications: • Experience (Years and Type)-:15-20 years in EPC / Infrastructure projects. Minimum 5+ years in Project Manager roles. • Educational Qualifications: Bachelors degree in engineering (Electrical / Civil mandatory)PMP / PRINCE2 certification (preferred) • Strong experience in EHV/HV (132kV, 220kV, 400kV & above) transmission projects. • Exposure to large-scale EPC project environments
