Safety Officer

Job description

Role & responsibilities • Ensure compliance with all statutory safety regulations, including the Factories Act and other applicable EHS guidelines. • Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across the manufacturing plant. • Identify workplace hazards and implement preventive and corrective measures. • Organize safety training, induction programs, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for employees and contractors. • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions. • Monitor the proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure adherence to safety protocols. • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including mock drills, fire safety inspections, and evacuation procedures. • Maintain statutory registers, safety records, permits, and documentation as per regulatory requirements. • Liaise with government authorities during inspections and ensure timely statutory compliance. • Promote a strong safety culture by driving EHS initiatives and continuous improvement programs. Preferred candidate profile • Graduate in any discipline with Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) (Mandatory)
