Job Title: SAP S/4HANA\\_ PP DS\\_ Senior Consultant\\_11258Location: Pune, Bangalore, Chennai, Noida, HyderabadRole Type: PermanentWork Mode: HybridExperience: 8+ Years Shift: 2 PM-11 PM Production Planning Detailed Scheduling (PP-DS) Configure and support SAP PP/DS planning processes, production scheduling, master data, integration, testing, and issue resolution. Role Overview Planning today is manual and spreadsheet-based, siloed across individual planners, and dependent on collating data from roughly nine systems before a plan can be produced for a single line. The target is a single, constraint-aware, plant-wide plan in SAP S/4HANA PP-DS respecting machine, unit, tool, tool hardness, mold, active cavity count, labor, dryer availability, shift, downtime and changeover constraints with an estimated 90% reduction in planner time from constraint input to plan output and genuine what-if capability for the first time. The assessment found most requirements met by standard; the residual scope is one bounded theme: planner-maintained flexible machine mold tool cavity master data. Key Responsibilities Lead the PP-DS validation workshop; confirm the 30 planning requirements, close open design items and produce signed-off functional design. Own the scheduling-engine decision heuristics versus the PP/DS Optimizer and its consequences for changeover minimization, due-date adherence and age-based net requirements; run a proof of concept where needed. Configure PP-DS master data (PDS, resources and capacity, setup groups and matrices, product master PP-DS views) and production-planning heuristics for a 36 month rolling horizon. Configure finite scheduling against the full constraint set, plus order fixing and selective re-optimization so planners freeze committed shop-floor orders and re-plan only the remainder intraday. Configure the Detailed Scheduling Planning Board, product view and alert monitor, and design the planner''s daily and bi-weekly operating rhythm. Design demand intake and forecast consumption including the cross-entity model where forecast originates with a parent entity while orders are placed by a subsidiary; design age-aware net requirements. Bound and specify the flexible machine/mold/tool/cavity extension attributes, volumes, planner maintenance UI, generation program and carry-through to the planned order and traveler; recommend the on-time/delayed/shorted reporting mechanism. BATCH MANAGEMENT TRACEABILITY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Batch Management and traceability experience is required at a working-design level. You will not own batch configuration that sits with the PP/QM and IM/WM consultants but you must design planning behavior that depends on batch and shelf-life data and hands clean, traceable context to execution: Batch and shelf-life-driven net requirements: configuring stock ageing so aged stock (over one year) remains available to netting while obsolete stock (over three years) is excluded, and confirming the selected engine''s behavior. Planning-level traceability of supply source making visible on the planned order whether a sub-assembly is produced in-house or externally procured, using multiple PDS with priority or batch-based source traceability. Carrying resolved machine, tool, hardness, mold and cavity detail from the planned order to the production order and shop-floor traveler, so the batch created in execution inherits planning context. Understanding how planning decisions constrain downstream batch behavior lot sizing, one-lot-per-machine-per-day rules, lot number-up and cavity-level splitting so execution can create batches cleanly. Working with the Manufacturing Execution, Quality and Inventory workstreams on a single shared lot/batch numbering and traceability model rather than a planning-only view of it. Required Qualifications 8+ years SAP supply chain planning consulting with 3+ full-lifecycle implementations and hands-on PP-DS configuration responsibility; at least 2 on S/4HANA embedded PP-DS (1909 or later). APO PP/DS with a proven S/4HANA transition will be considered. Deep PP-DS master-data expertise: PDS, resources and capacity, setup groups and setup matrices, product master PP-DS views, and the CIF/embedded integration model. Demonstrable hands-on experience with both PP-DS heuristics and the PP/DS Optimizer, and the judgment to recommend one over the other with reasons. Finite-scheduling design in a constraint-rich discrete environment multiple simultaneous resource, tool and changeover constraints including sequence-dependent setup via setup matrices. Detailed Scheduling Planning Board, alert monitor and interactive planning, including training planners to work in them. Solid PP-DS S/4HANA integration knowledge across planned orders, production orders, confirmations and goods movements; demand and forecast consumption design including multi-entity scenarios. Ability to replace an entrenched spreadsheet planning process, including the change management to bring long-tenured planners with you. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual English/Japanese (business level); prior delivery in Japan or with Japanese manufacturing clients. Injection molding, stamping or similar tool/mold-constrained manufacturing, including cavity-level planning granularity. Advanced ATP, backorder processing or pegging-based delivery-performance reporting. Modelling production resources and tools (PRT) and equipment as planning constraints; familiarity with SAP IBP. SAP BTP clean-core extensibility for planner-facing master-data maintenance applications. SAP certification in S/4HANA Production Planning and Manufacturing or SCM APO PP/DS. Language Requirement Bilingual English/Japanese Preferred, Not Required Fluent professional English is required for design documentation, deliverables and steering-committee communication. Business-level Japanese is a strong advantage many process owners,
