SDET / Automation Test Engineer Java Selenium Company: Altimetrik Role: SDET / Senior SDET / Automation Test Engineer Experience: 6–12 Years Locations: Chennai | Bangalore | Hyderabad Work Mode: Hybrid Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are looking for an experienced SDET / Automation Test Engineer with 6–12 years of experience in software testing and automation. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Java, Selenium WebDriver, API Automation, TestNG, Cucumber/BDD and automation framework development. The candidate should be capable of designing, developing and maintaining scalable automation frameworks and should work closely with development, product and DevOps teams to ensure high-quality software delivery. Must-Have Skills • 6–12 years of experience in Software Testing / SDET / Test Automation • Strong hands-on experience with Java • Strong experience with Selenium WebDriver • Excellent knowledge of Automation Testing • Experience in developing and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch • Strong experience with TestNG • Good hands-on experience with BDD / Cucumber • Strong experience in API Testing / API Automation • Hands-on experience with REST Assured • Good knowledge of SQL and database testing • Experience with Git / GitHub • Experience with Jenkins / CI-CD • Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC • Experience in writing and executing test cases • Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology A recent Altimetrik SDET listing specifically mentions Java, Selenium, RestAssured, TestNG, Jenkins and automation across UI/API/integration/end-to-end workflows. Good-to-Have Skills • Playwright with Java • API tools such as Postman • Selenium Grid • Maven / Gradle • Docker • Kubernetes • AWS / Azure • JIRA / Xray • Performance Testing – JMeter • CI/CD pipeline integration • Parallel test execution • Cloud-based test automation • Experience with microservices testing Playwright can be treated as an added advantage rather than a mandatory skill if your primary requirement is Java + Selenium. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop and maintain Java-Selenium automation frameworks • Create reusable and scalable automation scripts • Automate UI, API, integration and end-to-end test scenarios • Develop automation scripts using Java, Selenium and TestNG • Implement BDD scenarios using Cucumber • Perform API automation using REST Assured • Integrate automation suites with Jenkins/CI-CD pipelines • Execute regression, functional, smoke and sanity testing • Identify, analyze and report software defects • Perform root-cause analysis for automation and application failures • Maintain test scripts and improve automation coverage • Participate in code reviews and framework enhancements • Work closely with developers, product managers and QA teams • Ensure quality throughout the complete software development lifecycle • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and automation strategy
