Description Python + Django + SQL + Rest Requirements About the Role We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (Python) to design, build, and scale highly reliable backend systems and APIs. This role requires deep backend expertise, strong system design skills, and the ability to operate production-grade distributed systems in a cloud-native environment. Depending on team needs, engineers may focus on product backend systems or platform and foundational infrastructure used across multiple engineering teams. Required Skills & Qualifications Strong experience with Python using FastAPI and/or Django Expertise in REST API design and implementation Strong database knowledge: MySQL, PostgreSQL, and exposure to NoSQL / analytical stores (SingleStore, Hive) Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-based architectures Experience building and operating scalable, distributed systems Strong understanding of system design, performance, and reliability Experience working with CI/CD pipelines Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Job responsibilities Core Responsibilities (All Engineers) Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python (FastAPI / Django) Build and evolve robust REST APIs with strong performance, security, and scalability Design and optimize data models and queries across SQL and NoSQL systems Architect and implement scalable distributed systems Leverage AWS services and contribute to CI/CD pipelines Ensure high standards of code quality, testing, and documentation Participate in architecture reviews, design discussions, and code reviews Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Frontend, Data, and GTM teams Support production systems and contribute to operational excellence Nice-to-Have Skills (Product / Backend-Focused) Experience with Java in backend systems Event streaming and messaging exposure: Kafka, Kinesis, RabbitMQ, SQS, SNS, Redis Infrastructure and deployment tooling: Terraform, Docker, GitHub Actions Monitoring and observability: Observe, Datadog, CloudWatch CRM and email system integrations (Salesforce, HubSpot, SMTP/ESP APIs, DKIM/SPF/DMARC) Distributed systems patterns: idempotency, retries, circuit breakers, resiliency Prior experience with production support or on-call rotations Nice-to-Have Skills (Platform / Infrastructure) Experience working with Platform or Core Infrastructure teams Ability to design clean abstractions and foundational systems Strong experience with CI/CD platforms and developer productivity & tooling Deep familiarity with observability stacks and operational metrics Experience with Kubernetes (K8s) and container orchestration Designing and maintaining testing platforms and frameworks Strong problem decomposition and product mindset Experience building AI/LLM-powered systems using LangChain / OpenAI APIs Data pipelines and big data technologies: Spark, Hive, Flink, Airflow Knowledge of secure data lifecycle, GDPR, and privacy best practices Testing experience using Pytest, Playwright, Jest What we offer Exciting Projects: We focus on industries like High-Tech, communication, media, healthcare, retail and telecom.
