We are seeking a skilled Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to join our GFSO Descriptive Analytics Tower This role will be based out of Bangalore-Whitefield office What you do As part of Caterpillar’s Global Finance Division, the Senior Business Intelligence Analyst role will have the opportunity to develop and support web-based solutions functionality of one or more applications or business to support our Descriptive Analytics Team. This role will partner with Strategy & Execution Business Manager, Senior Staff Accountants, senior leadership and other key global stakeholders to design and develop key data visualizations and automation for Caterpillar’s global leadership and key stakeholders. In addition to ensuring a successful reporting standardization and transition, the role offers opportunity to identify and lead onboarding future processes. This position will work closely with business units across the enterprise and the Global Finance Strategy team to ensure alignment of processes for Caterpillar. Key Responsibilities: Strategy, Opportunity Identification & Delivery • Identify and support analytics, reporting, and automation opportunities in partnership with business stakeholders and team leads. • Assess requirements, scope, and complexity of assigned initiatives and contribute to delivery planning. • Own end‑to‑end delivery of assigned analytics, reporting, or automation solutions—from development to production support. Business Intelligence & Data Analysis • Utilise enterprise data warehouses, ERP platforms, and specialist datasets to deliver accurate insights by developing advanced analytics, reporting, and automation tools that surpass basic report generation. • Develop solutions using: • Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) • SQL-based data models and curated data sources • Python-based automation or reporting where applicable • Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, security, and maintainability standards. • Participate in solution design reviews and incorporate feedback to improve quality. Application Delivery & Support • Execute all phases of solution delivery for assigned work: • Requirements understanding • Development and testing • Deployment and post‑production support • Follow established best practices for development, testing, documentation, and release management. • Support troubleshooting and resolution of data, report, or automation issues. Stakeholder Collaboration • Collaborate with business users to gather requirements, create solutions, and continuously improve usability and value based on feedback. • Communicate progress, dependencies, and limitations clearly to stakeholders. Problem Solving & Issue Resolution • Analyze and resolve complex data, reporting, or automation issues across tools and platforms. • Escalate risks or blockers with clear context, impact, and recommended next steps. • Contribute to root‑cause analysis and long‑term fixes. Learning, Innovation & Continuous Improvement • Stay current with analytics, automation, AI‑enabled reporting, and low‑code platform capabilities. • Contribute reusable components, automation patterns, and standardization efforts. • Participate in knowledge sharing, documentation, and internal learning initiatives. What you will have • 5–10 years of experience working with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate), with demonstrated capabilities in leveraging AI-driven analytics and developing Python-based web reporting solutions • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. • Exposure to working in a global or cross-functional team setup is a plus. • This position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule in the office. • Shift:01:00Noon -10:00PM IST Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field. • Experience supporting reporting or automation projects in a business environment. • Understanding of Python and data science concepts. • Understanding business processes in finance and operations is advantageous.
