This transformational project represents a multi-thousand crore investment in India's semiconductor ecosystem and involves construction of a state-of-the-art fabrication facility with supporting infrastructure across a substantial land parcel. The project encompasses sophisticated civil works including specialized foundations for vibration-sensitive equipment, advanced structural systems, extensive utilities infrastructure, and complex site development works. Position Summary The Head of Civil will provide strategic leadership and technical oversight for all civil and structural engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle. This senior leadership role demands a highly experienced civil engineering professional with proven expertise in managing large-scale industrial construction projects, preferably in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or high-tech manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will coordinate design reviews, construction planning, contractor management, quality assurance, and delivery of civil works packages while ensuring alignment with project schedule, budget, quality standards, and client expectations. Key Responsibilities Strategic Civil Engineering Leadership Provide overall leadership and technical direction for civil and structural engineering activities across all project phases including design development, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning. Serve as the primary civil engineering interface between JLL project management team, stakeholders, design consultants, contractors, and statutory authorities. Develop and implement civil works execution strategies aligned with overall project master schedule and phasing requirements. Design Management and Technical Review Lead comprehensive reviews of architectural and structural design packages prepared by design consultants ensuring compliance with project requirements, international standards, and Indian codes (IS codes, NBC). Evaluate structural systems, foundation designs, seismic considerations, and load-bearing capacity calculations for process equipment and utility installations. Review and approve temporary works designs, shoring and scaffolding systems, formwork designs, and construction methodology proposals. Coordinate design interfaces between civil, structural, architectural, MEP, and process engineering disciplines. Scope and Specification Development Develop detailed scopes of work, technical specifications, and bill of quantities for civil works packages including site development, earthworks, foundations, structural concrete works, structural steel, architectural works, external utilities, roads and pavements, drainage systems, and landscaping. Establish quality standards, material specifications, workmanship criteria, and acceptance testing requirements. Prepare technical evaluation criteria for contractor selection and procurement processes. Construction Planning and Execution Management Develop detailed construction execution plans, method statements, and sequence strategies for civil works ensuring optimal productivity, safety, and quality outcomes. Coordinate civil works scheduling with overall project master schedule, identifying critical path activities and interdependencies with other disciplines. Plan resource deployment including labor, equipment, materials, and temporary facilities. Establish construction sequencing that enables efficient MEP and process equipment installation in subsequent phases. Contractor Management and Coordination Oversee selection, mobilization, and performance management of civil contractors and subcontractors. Conduct regular progress reviews, site coordination meetings, and technical discussions. Monitor contractor compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and safety protocols. Resolve technical issues, design queries, and site challenges through structured RFI and technical query management processes. Manage contractor variations, claims, and commercial matters in coordination with project commercial team. Quality Assurance and Control Establish comprehensive quality management systems for civil works aligned with ISO 9001 and project-specific quality plans
