Job Description - -------------- **Job Description** **Basic Qualifications:** * Strong knowledge of C (System programming) and Multi-threaded programming * 5 years experience developing commercial software in a distributed environment. * Understanding of software systems analysis and design, and software development life cycle. * Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and operating systems. * Fundamentals of Distributed systems * Linux \& Networking skills * Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills. * Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills. * Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders towards achieving success of the task at hand. **Optional skills:** Knowledge of storage concepts and file systems. **Education:** BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related engineering fields with experience of 5 years in the functional area. **Responsibilities** As a member of the software engineering division, you will work in a highly-collaborative team in building new features for File Storage Service; operating and growing the current service offering. You should be able to architect broad systems interactions, while being very hands-on, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and lower level system interactions. You will apply intermediate knowledge of software architecture to perform software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Design, implement, and optimize components in distributed systems with an emphasis on scalability, resiliency, and operability. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture. Build fault-tolerant paths and apply recovery‑oriented principles. Proactively detect and mitigate issues via tests, alarms, dashboards, and telemetry; author runbooks and participate in incident response and RCAs.
