About the Role The Senior Data Engineer is a key role within the Customer Remediation team that focuses on delivering business outcomes to build reusable data solutions and assets that drive efficiency and productivity. These solutions will deliver speed and agility enabling data analysts to advance and accelerate the delivery of timely customer outcomes. Overallapproach is to simply, standardise and automate. A key focus of this role is partnering and collaborating with Business Analysts and Data Analysts to design and deliver technical solutions. The role is also responsible for maintaining existing data assets and solutions through effective debugging, root cause analysis, and resolution of production issues. This role requires a strong understanding of data engineering, data analysis, reporting, and data automation techniques and workflows. The ideal candidate is an experienced Data Engineer with a proven track record of developing data products that support analytical solutions. Advanced SAS programming expertise is essential. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be accountable for: Financial: • Support the achievement of agreed financial targets • Operate in a manner that is cost effective and efficient with all resources Customer: • Contribute to design and implementation of technical solutions • Develop, test and implement to meet technical / business requirements • Provide full transparency of status throughout delivery Process: • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement – simplify and improve processes where possible • Ensure that quality control and data governance processes are followed • Provide accurate estimates of the end-to-end resource required for developing or maintaining code People: • Participate as a team member positively around team culture and growth • Provide guidance and support to peers through code reviews, and technical leadership Risk/Compliance/Behaviours: • Alignment and adherence with ANZ Group IT strategy, governance policies, processes and standards and with external regulatory requirements What will you bring? • Overall 4 to 6 years of work experience. Exposure to Python is highly beneficial. • Experience in SAS, SQL coding (development and analysis skills) • Able to demonstrate a high regard for urgency and deadlines. Must be detail orientated and be strongly driven by quality • Problem-solving and analytical mind-set, with a strong attention to detail • Broad knowledge of Financial Service products and processes • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to collaborate with people at different levels • Able to produce high quality, high output work • Work with project stakeholders and developers, • Solid understanding of data development lifecycles, disciplines and procedures. • Can appreciate difficult problems and work autonomously on tasks with a medium complexity, can work collaboratively as part of a team and clearly articulate & present consolidated findings.
