About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 10 S&P Global Energy The Role: Senior DevOps Engineer The Team We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and skilled engineering leader to join S&P Global Energy. Our team delivers sector-specific, data-rich solutions that are tightly aligned to evolving business needs. The Impact You will help design and build modern cloud platforms, shared data assets, and reusable capabilities leveraged across the organization. The team owns the DevOps function for a large-scale, cloud-based data processing environment—establishing best practices for cloud infrastructure, data processing, and operational excellence. You will also advise partner teams on modernization initiatives and scalable data solutions. What’s in it for you • Work in a fast-paced, modern engineering environment where platform and automation expertise directly improves product delivery and reliability • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement industry best practices in deployment, observability, and secure operations • Benefit from a culture that prioritizes learning, training, and career development Responsibilities • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure across compute, storage, networking, serverless, messaging, and workflow orchestration capabilities • Design and operate automated delivery pipelines that support builds, testing, releases, and safe deployments • Partner with development teams to ensure smooth promotion of services into production, including release readiness and operational handoffs • Drive availability and reliability through performance tuning, capacity planning, autoscaling strategies, and proactive alerting/incident response • Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code to standardize environments, improve repeatability, and reduce manual operations • Embed security best practices into infrastructure, delivery workflows, and runtime operations to protect sensitive data and reduce vulnerabilities • Mentor junior engineers and encourage a culture of shared ownership, documentation, and continuous improvement • Take ownership of platform initiatives from concept through delivery, ensuring outcomes align with timelines and business goals • Maintain and enhance existing platform services to meet evolving business requirements What We’re Looking For • Bachelor's or Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent field • 6 to 8 years of strong industry experience in DevOps tooling and infrastructure automation • Broad knowledge of software development and testing methodologies, along with change and configuration management practices in Linux-based environments • Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms, with a preference for experience in major public cloud providers • Strong understanding of container orchestration platforms and cluster management • Experience with automated deployment pipelines, continuous integration systems, and release engineering processes • Strong knowledge of infrastructure automation and configuration management tools • Experience working with containerization technologies and container-based environments • Strong scripting skills across multiple programming and scripting languages, including object-oriented, interpreted, and shell scripting languages • Working knowledge of cloud service providers and cloud-native architectures • Prior consulting, advisory, or professional services experience is preferred • Solid technical expertise and troubleshooting skills • Experience with version control systems and source code management platforms What’s In It For You?
