The User Experience team at Roku is comprised of UX designers, researchers, and writers who work collaboratively with our world-class Product and Engineering teams to meet customer needs and deliver a Roku experience defined by simplicity and delight. About the role Roku is looking for a Senior UX Product Designer to join the Product Catalog team and support the growth of Roku’s subscription business. In this role, you will define and design self-service tools and features that help Roku developers, content partners, and internal operations teams grow their subscription revenue on the Roku platform. Outstanding user experiences come from people who can see the big picture while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. This role requires a proactive approach and a keen eye for craft to ensure our products continue to set the standard for excellence in the streaming industry. What you’ll be doing • Design simple, intuitive flows and experiences while maintaining a high bar for craft and usability. Strive for innovation and make thoughtful design decisions informed by trade-off analysis, while maintaining clear documentation throughout the design process. • Work closely with product managers to identify the problems, business goals, and user outcomes that your designs will address. Independently navigating ambiguous requirements and shifting priorities to bring clarity and define new features. • Gather requirements and create user-centered experience flows, including the cross-pollination of ideas with different teams within Roku. • Build flexible and scalable products/features that our partners can use to maximize their experience on the Roku platform. • Collaborate closely with the development team throughout the lifecycle of the product/feature. • Demonstrate strong product and design thinking with executive-ready communication skills, including clear problem framing, decision making, and tailored narratives for different stakeholders. • Build strong relationships with PM and Engineering partners and collaborate cross-functionally across different time zones to drive end-to-end design. Advocate for user needs and push for the prioritization of UX improvements, refinements, and enhancements. We’re excited if you have • 6+ years of experience designing for enterprise customers, ideally with experience working on publishing platforms. • A track record of shipping multiple products or features, and the ability to clearly articulate your specific contributions. • Portfolio highlighting projects demonstrating user-centered design solutions with measurable outcomes (include online portfolio link with resume) • Hands-on experience working with user researchers (or conducting user research yourself) and using those insights to inform your designs. • Experience designing patterns and components and contributing to design systems. • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment, and to embrace opportunities to rapidly iterate on designs • A passion for getting the subtle details right when creating a high-performing, world-class experience. • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma (or similar) to create user interfaces • Degree in Design, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
