Role Description The Repair Engineer – Gas Turbines is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. This role involves developing and validating repair solutions for gas turbine components, including assessment of damage, definition of repair schemes, and support of implementation in maintenance and overhaul environments. The Senior Repair Engineer will collaborate with design, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure repairability, reliability, and compliance with safety and quality standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing engineering analyses, preparing technical documentation and repair instructions, reviewing test and inspection data, and providing technical support to shop floor and field service teams. The role also includes continuous improvement of repair processes, contribution to cost and cycle-time reduction initiatives, and mentoring junior engineers on gas turbine repair engineering practices. Qualifications • Strong expertise in gas turbine engineering, including component design, operation, and failure modes. • Experience in repair development for rotating equipment or turbomachinery, preferably in aerospace, energy, or power generation sectors. • Solid understanding of materials science and manufacturing processes relevant to turbine components, such as welding, machining, and coating technologies. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound engineering judgments under time and cost constraints. • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional and multi-site teams, and for providing clear technical guidance. • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline. • Several years of relevant experience in gas turbine or turbomachinery repair engineering; experience in a service or MRO environment is an advantage. • Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru and support occasional shop or field visits as required.
