Visit our website to learn more! &#xa0; Job Description:&#xa0;&#xa0; Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack & GenAI &#xa0; Who will you be working with? As a Senior Software Engineer on the Wabtec IT Data & Analytics (DnA) Team, you will be part of the Advanced Analytics & AI Development team. You will collaborate with data engineers, AI specialists, and business stakeholders to build scalable full‑stack applications and GenAI-powered features that solve real business problems. How will you make a difference? You will design and develop high-quality software solutions, contribute to system design, and deliver reliable, scalable applications. You will also actively learn and apply modern technologies in Python and AI/GenAI, helping the team adopt innovative solutions. Your Responsibilities • Software Development: Build and maintain full-stack applications, APIs, and AI-powered features. • System Design: Contribute to the design of microservices and event-driven systems following established architecture. • GenAI Implementation: Develop LLM-powered features including prompt pipelines, RAG integrations, and evaluation workflows. • End-to-End Delivery: Build secure APIs (FastAPI/Node/NestJS) and React-based frontends; support CI/CD, testing, and deployments. • Security Practices: Implement secure coding standards including authentication (OAuth2), secrets management, and API protection. • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions aligned with business needs. • Code Quality: Write clean, testable, maintainable code and actively participate in code reviews. • Continuous Learning: Stay open to learning and implementing Python, AI, and emerging GenAI technologies in real-world use cases. • Improvement Mindset: Contribute to improving engineering practices, developer experience, and team productivity. &#xa0; What do we want to know about you? You must have: The minimum qualifications for this role include: • Bachelor degree in computer science, IT, or related field • 5+ years of software engineering experience • Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript/Python • Experience building frontend applications using Angular and React or similar frameworks • Backend development experience with FastAPI / Node.js / NestJS • Experience working with SQL and data-driven applications • Familiarity with AWS (S3, RDS), Docker, and CI/CD pipelines • Exposure to GenAI concepts (LLMs, prompts, RAG, APIs) • Understanding of secure coding practices and authentication mechanisms • Strong problem-solving and communication skills • Demonstrated willingness to learn and implement AI/GenAI solutions along with Python &#xa0; &#xa0; We would love it if you had: • Experience with vector databases (pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate) • Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar frameworks • Knowledge of Redis, background jobs, and queue systems • Exposure to Kubernetes and container orchestration • Understanding of observability (logs, metrics, tracing) • Experience optimizing performance and cost for applications &#xa0; What will your typical day look like? • Collaborate with AI engineers and stakeholders in design and development discussions • Develop scalable APIs, frontend applications, and AI-powered features • Experiment with and implement GenAI capabilities • Participate in code reviews and improve code quality • Troubleshoot issues and optimize performance • Continuously learn and apply new tools, especially in Python and AI/GenAI &#xa0; What about the physical demands of the job?<
