Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Snowflake Platform Engineer to join our Cloud Platform Engineering (CPE) team. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, automation, and governance of enterprise-scale Snowflake data platforms within regulated financial environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Snowflake, Microsoft Azure, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), CI/CD (Azure DevOps), Git-based development workflows, and ITSM processes (ServiceNow), with a focus on platform reliability, security, compliance, and automation. Key Responsibilities Snowflake Platform Engineering • Design, build, and operate Snowflake environments (multi-account, multi-region, replication & failover). • Implement secure RBAC models, access provisioning, and governance frameworks aligned with enterprise standards. • Develop and maintain automated onboarding pipelines (accounts, databases, warehouses, roles). • Optimize warehouse performance and cost (FinOps), including query tuning and utilization tracking. • Implement data protection, encryption, masking policies, and regulatory compliance controls. Cloud & Infrastructure (Azure) • Architect and manage Snowflake integrations with Azure services (Azure Key Vault, Private Endpoints, Managed Identity). • Configure secure network connectivity (Private Link, VNet integration, firewall policies). • Troubleshoot TLS/SSL, connectivity, and authentication issues across Azure and Snowflake. Automation & DevOps • Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform for Snowflake and Azure resources. • Develop CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (ADO) for: • Integration configurations • Grants and RBAC automation • Enforce Git-based version control practices for platform artifacts (SQL, scripts, Terraform modules). • Implement automated testing, validation, and rollback mechanisms for deployments. ITSM, Change & Release Management • Integrate platform workflows with ServiceNow for: • Change requests • Incident management • Service catalog automation • Drive controlled release processes ensuring compliance with enterprise change policies. • Support audit-ready deployments with traceability across environments (Dev, QA, Prod). Governance & Regulatory Compliance • Ensure platform adherence to regulated environment standards (e.g., SOC2, ISO, financial compliance frameworks). • Maintain audit logs, activity tracking, and access reviews across Snowflake and Azure. • Implement controls for Data retention, and security policies. • Partner with Security and Risk teams for periodic audits and remediation. Operational Excellence • Develop runbooks, SOPs, and architecture documentation aligned with CRD standards. • Provide L3 support and lead production incident resolution (Sev1/Sev2). • Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability frameworks. • Continuously improve platform reliability, scalability, and automation maturity. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. • 8+ years of experience in data platform engineering or cloud infrastructure roles. • Strong hands-on experience with: • Snowflake (core platform, security, replication, performance tuning) • Microsoft Azure (Storage, Networking, Identity, Key Vault) • Terraform (IaC for cloud and Snowflake resources) • Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines, release management) • Git version control (branching strategies, code reviews) • Experience in supporting third party applications such as Talend,Qlik,Looker. • Experience with ServiceNow ITSM workflows. • Proven experience working in regulated or financial services environments. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with: • Snowflake account replication and DR strategies • Multi-cloud data architectures (AWS/Azure hybrid) • Automated data access provisioning workflows (AI-driven preferred) • Knowledge of: • Data governance and catalog tools • Security frameworks and compliance standards • Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Co-pilot • Snowflake and/or Azure certifications are a plus.
