Job Title: Software Engineer II (Solution Test), Cisco IQ Platform Team Location: Bangalore (Hybrid) Organization: Cisco IQ Platform Team, CX Engineering The Cisco IQ Platform Team is the engineering engine within CX Engineering, building the unified foundation for Cisco’s customer experience ecosystem. We are seeking a Grade 6 Software Engineer with a solid foundation in software quality engineering and End-to-End (E2E) solution testing. In this role, you will contribute to building UI/API test automation, validate customer workflows, and use AI-assisted tools to help accelerate our quality delivery.  Key Responsibilities ●      Test Execution: Participate in the E2E testing lifecycle, including creating and executing UI/API test scripts and tracking defects. ●      Automation Maintenance: Contribute to automated test suites for front-end (React) applications and back-end APIs, ensuring tests are up-to-date with new feature releases. ●      AI Utilization: Use AI-assisted tools (e.g., automated test data generation) to improve script efficiency and explore no-code automation flows. ●      Troubleshooting: Assist in troubleshooting connectivity, device interaction, and data workflows within our testing environments. ●      CI/CD Integration: Help maintain automated UI and API test cases within our Jenkins/DevOps CI/CD pipelines. ●      Platform Support: Support the team's transition to the Atlassian System of Work by utilizing Forge for internal quality tracking and documentation. Required Qualifications (Mandatory) ●      Experience: 2–3 years of related professional engineering experience in software testing or development. ●      Testing Foundations: Good knowledge of testing methodologies and the software development lifecycle (SDLC). ●      Programming: Proficiency in Python or Java for writing and debugging automation scripts. ●      Automation Tools: Hands-on experience with at least one UI or API automation tool (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or PyTest). ●      Networking Basics: Basic understanding of core networking concepts (TCP/IP, L2/L3); CCNA level knowledge is a plus. ●      System Basics: Familiarity with Linux/Unix command-line utilities and basic shell scripting. Preferred Qualifications ●      AI Interest: Curiosity or basic exposure to AI-assisted testing concepts or prompt-based tools. ●      React Exposure: Basic understanding of how React-based front-ends interact with APIs. ●      Collaboration: Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment across distributed teams (e.g., US and India). ●      Cloud Basics: Basic exposure to AWS or other cloud-native infrastructure.Develops software consistent with Cisco ‘Design Thinking Principles’ with a focus on simplification and UX (User Experience) at its core, using secure coding practices, ensuring user privacy, and following software development best practices. Partners with other teams including design and product management to create the right solution for the customers. Creates technical design documentation to be used by the team as well as contributing to user documentation to be used by end users. Debugs and addresses software issues during development and in production systems to support customers. Brings new ideas for product innovation and helps improve software development processes.
