Software Test Engineer (Java, Selenium/ Playwright)

We are looking for a passionate and detail oriented Software Test Engineer with 1 to 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Test Automation. The ideal candidate should possess strong testing fundamentals, hands on automation experience, excellent communication skills, and a quality first mindset. This role offers an opportunity to work with modern technologies, AI driven testing approaches, and CI/CD practices while contributing to the delivery of high quality software products.  Responsibilities  • Responsible for ensuring the quality of product features and enhancements.  • Understand business requirements, user stories, and technical specifications.  • Identify gaps, ambiguities, and inconsistencies in requirements and collaborate with Product Owners and Development teams.  • Create comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases.  • Perform Functional, Regression, Integration, End to End, Smoke, and Sanity Testing.  • Perform Non Functional Testing including Performance, Security, Accessibility, Compatibility, and Reliability testing.  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test cases using Java, TypeScript, Selenium, and Playwright.  • Continuously identify opportunities to increase automation coverage and efficiency.  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing initiatives.  • Validate REST APIs, databases, and service integrations.  • Log, track, and verify defects while working closely with developers for effective resolution.  • Setup and maintain test environments and test data.  • Leverage AI powered tools and techniques to improve test design, automation, defect analysis, and quality insights.  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and sprint ceremonies.  • Maintain functional and technical knowledge of the application landscape.  • Collaborate effectively with cross functional teams across locations.  • Mentor junior team members and share knowledge on testing practices, tools, and frameworks.  • Follow industry best practices, quality standards, and team SDLC guidelines.  • Continuously evaluate and recommend process improvements for quality engineering.  Qualifications  • 1 to 3 years of experience in Software Testing and QA Automation.  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline.  • Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).  • Hands on experience in test automation using Selenium and Playwright.  • Strong programming skills in Java and/or TypeScript.  • Experience in designing and maintaining automation frameworks.  • Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming concepts and design principles.  • Experience in API testing using Postman, Rest Assured, or equivalent tools.  • Experience in Web Application and Cross Browser Testing.  • Experience in Database Testing and SQL queries.  • Strong test validation, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.  • Good understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.  • Familiarity with source control tools such as Git.  • Knowledge of Agile Scrum methodologies and release processes.  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP is a plus.  • Exposure to AI assisted testing tools and modern Quality Engineering practices is highly desirable.  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.  • Passion for learning new technologies and continuous improvement.    Expected Competencies  • Accountable – Takes ownership of quality deliverables and drives tasks to completion.  • Analytical – Evaluates complex scenarios and identifies risks proactively.  • Quality Focused – Continuously advocates for product quality and customer satisfaction.  • Automation Mindset – Identifies opportunities to automate repetitive and high value test scenarios.  • AI Driven Thinking – Understands and adopts AI powered testing approaches to improve productivity and quality.  • Collaborative – Works effectively with Product, Development, DevOps, and Business teams.  • Customer Focused – Understands customer needs and validates solutions from an end user perspective.  • Communication Skills – Demonstrates effective verbal, written, and presentation skills.  • Detail Oriented – Maintains high attention to detail and test coverage.  • Continuous Learner – Actively explores new tools, technologies, and industry trends.  • Problem Solver – Approaches challenges with a structured and solution oriented mindset.  • Shows Initiative – Proactively identifies improvements and takes action without constant supervision.    Why Join Us  • Work with modern automation frameworks and AI driven testing solutions.  • Opportunity to contribute to high impact products and platforms.  • Exposure to cloud technologies, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.  • Collaborative and innovation driven engineering culture.  • Continuous learning and care
