As a Senior AI Engineer within the Artificial Intelligence Engineering (AIE) organization at Micron Technology, Inc., you will design, develop, deploy, and support business-critical Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Factory Automation solutions supporting Micron’s Assembly & Test manufacturing operations. In this role, you will work closely with manufacturing engineers, product owners, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable and scalable manufacturing solutions that improve operational efficiency, quality, and productivity. You will leverage your MES domain expertise, software engineering skills, and AI-enabled engineering practices to drive successful solution delivery from requirements through production support. Responsibilities and Tasks • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions for Assembly & Test manufacturing operations. • Work closely with manufacturing users and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable technology solutions. • Apply strong knowledge of MES, Factory Automation, manufacturing workflows, equipment integration, and process execution to solve manufacturing challenges. • Develop integrations between manufacturing and enterprise systems using APIs, microservices, messaging technologies, and event-driven architectures. • Participate in solution design, code reviews, testing, deployment planning, and implementation activities. • Execute and support SIT, UAT, E2E testing, deployment validation, factory go-lives and Hypercare activities. • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to ensure operational stability and business continuity. • Support modernization initiatives through cloud-native architectures, DevOps practices, automation, and reusable engineering solutions. • Utilize AI tools and agents for requirements analysis, software development, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and operational support to improve engineering productivity and delivery velocity. • Collaborate effectively with global manufacturing, engineering, and product teams to ensure the successful delivery of manufacturing solutions. • Continuously improve application reliability, maintainability, scalability, and operational excellence. Qualifications Required Experience • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline. • 2+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing applications, with strong hands-on experience in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). • Hands-on experience supporting Assembly & Test manufacturing operations. • Demonstrated ability to independently deliver manufacturing solutions across the complete software development lifecycle. • Experience working directly with manufacturing stakeholders and business users. • CMF experience is highly desirable and will be considered an additional advantage.
