**About the role** The VDI Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing virtual apps/desktop infrastructure environments to enable secure, scalable, and high-performing remote access for users. The role requires strong expertise in virtual application platforms (preferably Omnissa Horizon or Citrix), along with solid understanding of networking, AD, Database, storage, and system administration. The engineer will ensure optimal performance, great end user experience, availability, and security of VDI services while supporting end-user computing operations. **You will be responsible for** As a Systems Engineer I, I will: • Be responsible for supporting and maintaining Application Virtualisation platforms, ensuring stability, availability, and performance in line with SLAs. • Be responsible for incident, problem, and service request management, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and timely resolution of platform issues. • Deliver reliable and secure operational services for virtualised application environments, ensuring a seamless end-user experience. • Implement standard changes, configurations, and deployments following established processes, ensuring minimal risk and high quality. • Collaborate with Engineering, Infrastructure, and other teams to support platform improvements, upgrades, and operational readiness activities. • Identify and deliver automation and operational efficiency improvements to reduce manual effort and improve service quality. • Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles, ensuring accurate and up-to-date support processes. • Monitor platform health and proactively identify risks, capacity issues, and performance bottlenecks, escalating where required. **You will need** System Engineering Skills \\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_ • Proven experience in systems or infrastructure engineering with streaming application workloads from Server Operating System (RDSH). • Strong hands on experience operating enterprise‑scale Omnissa Horizon/Citrix, including architecture, configuration, and deployment. • Exposure to other application virtualisation or remote application delivery technologies (e.g., Citrix, AVD, or similar platforms). • Demonstrate knowledge of the latest technology trends within Application Virtualisation. • Strong conceptual knowledge of Application Virtualisation system integration with infrastructure eco system (e.g. Network, active directory, PKI, underlying Hypervisor platform etc.) • Complex stakeholder management (multiple internal cross functional teams and suppliers).
