**Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer** **Reference:** **SMART7465\\_HM** **Years of Experience:** **210 Years** Role Summary We are seeking a Manufacturing CAD Process Engineer with strong expertise in CAD modeling, manufacturing engineering, and process planning. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating manufacturing-ready 3D assembly models (digital twins), managing BOM/MBOM structures, supporting engineering change management, and developing manufacturing documentation to improve production quality and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Manufacturing CAD Digital Twin Development - Develop manufacturing (MFG) 3D models from engineering CAD models using Inventor, Creo, or SolidWorks. - Create digital twins representing actual manufacturing assemblies and production configurations. - Modify and maintain CAD models to support engineering and manufacturing changes. - Ensure CAD models comply with manufacturing and assembly requirements. CAD BOM Engineering - Perform CAD updates and support Engineering Change Notices (ECNs). - Create and maintain Engineering BOM (EBOM) and Manufacturing BOM (MBOM). - Convert EBOM to MBOM while ensuring manufacturing readiness. - Maintain process routings and manufacturing data integrity. - Support ETO (Engineer-to-Order) and high-mix/low-volume manufacturing environments. Manufacturing Process Engineering - Develop manufacturing process plans and routing sequences. - Support station design, assembly line balancing, and line layout optimization. - Collaborate with production teams to improve manufacturing efficiency and throughput. - Participate in manufacturing feasibility reviews and process optimization initiatives. Change Management - Support Engineering Change Request (ECR), Engineering Change Order (ECO), Manufacturing Change Order (MCO), and ECN processes. - Maintain BOM revisions and manufacturing documentation. - Ensure traceability of engineering and manufacturing changes. DFMA / DFA Activities - Perform Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA/DFA) assessments. - Identify manufacturing risks, quality concerns, and process improvement opportunities. - Participate in cross-functional design reviews. - Recommend improvements for manufacturability, cost, and assembly efficiency. Manufacturing Documentation - Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including: - Process FMEA (pFMEA) - Control Plans - Standardized Work Instructions (SWI) - Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) - Create wiring routing documentation for electrical assemblies. - Ensure documentation supports quality, safety, and repeatable manufacturing processes. Must-Have Skills - 58 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering or CAD Engineering. - Strong hands-on experience with at least one CAD platform: - Autodesk Inventor - Creo (Pro/E) - SolidWorks - Good understanding of assembly modeling and large assembly management. - Experience in EBOM to MBOM conversion. - Knowledge of manufacturing process planning and process routings. - Experience in station design and production line layout optimization. - Hands-on experience with: - ECN - ECR - ECO - MCO - BOM/MBOM authoring - Strong knowledge of DFMA/DFA methodologies. - Understanding of manufacturing documentation, including pFMEA, Control Plans, SOPs, and Work Instructions. - Knowledge of PLM, ERP, and MES systems. - Good understanding of manufacturing processes and assembly operations. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good-to-Have Skills - Experience with CAD APIs or automation using Inventor, Creo, or SolidWorks APIs. - Knowledge of AutoCAD and CATIA. - Experience in digital manufacturing and digital twin solutions. - Exposure to manufacturing automation and Industry 4.0 initiatives. - Programming experience with Python, VBA, C#, or similar scripting languages. Educational Qualifications - Bachelors Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
