**Job Description Manual Test Engineer (Electrical Metering Domain)** **Position:** Manual Test Engineer **Experience:** 5+ Years **Location:** Bengaluru / Schneider Electric Development Center **Business Unit:** Schneider Electric Metering Division **Job Summary** We are seeking a skilled **Manual Test Engineer** with **5+ years of experience in software and firmware testing**, preferably in industrial automation, energy management, or electrical metering domains. The ideal candidate should have an **Electrical Engineering background** and hands-on experience in validating electrical metering products, communication protocols, embedded systems, and energy management applications. The candidate will work closely with Product Management, Development, Firmware, and Validation teams to ensure the quality and reliability of Schneider Electrics metering products and solutions. **Key Responsibilities** - Analyze product requirements, functional specifications, and design documents. - Create detailed test plans, test scenarios, and test cases based on business and technical requirements. - Perform functional, system, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing. - Validate electrical metering features including: - Energy measurements - Power quality parameters - Demand calculations - Alarms and events - Data logging and reporting - Verify communication protocols such as: - Modbus RTU/TCP - BACnet - Ethernet/IP - Serial communications (RS485) - Test firmware and software releases for electrical meters and associated applications. - Execute manual testing for web applications, desktop applications, and embedded products. - Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using defect management tools. - Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues. - Participate in requirement reviews and provide quality-related feedback. - Support customer issue analysis and validation of fixes. - Maintain test reports, traceability matrices, and quality documentation. **Required Qualifications** - Bachelors Degree in: - Electrical Engineering - Electrical Electronics Engineering (EEE) - Electronics Communication Engineering (ECE) - 5+ years of experience in Manual Testing. - Strong understanding of electrical metering concepts: - Voltage - Current - Power - Energy - Power Factor - Harmonics - Demand Calculations - Experience in validating industrial or embedded products. - Hands-on experience with defect tracking tools such as: - Azure DevOps - JIRA - ALM - Experience in test case management and execution. - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. - Good communication and stakeholder management skills. **Preferred Skills** - Experience working with Schneider Electric metering products such as: - PM5000 Series - PM8000 Series - ION Meters - PowerLogic Meters - Knowledge of EcoStruxure Power Monitoring systems. - Exposure to BACnet BTL certification testing. - Understanding of IEC and electrical industry standards. - Experience in firmware validation and hardware-software integration testing. - Basic knowledge of automation tools such as Selenium or Playwright is an added advantage. **Technical Competencies** - Manual Functional Testing - Regression Testing - Integration Testing - System Testing - Embedded Device Testing - Energy Meter Validation - Electrical Measurements Verification - Modbus Testing - BACnet Testing - Test Documentation - Defect Management - Root Cause Analysis Disclaimer: This job posting has been aggregated from external source.
