Through strategic guidance and execution support, IIDA bridges the gap between government vision and implementation, delivering impactful engagements across infrastructure, tourism, and industrial sectors. Leveraging multidisciplinary expertise and global best practices, IIDA partners with central and state governments, PSUs, and multilateral institutions to foster inclusive, competitive, and sustainable development **About the Role:** We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented **Urban Planning professional** at the Assistant Manager level to support strategic planning and policy implementation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in urban planning, hands-on experience with **GIS tools** , and a proven track record of working on **government policy and regulatory frameworks** . **Key Responsibilities:** - Support the **drafting, review, and implementation** of urban planning policies, rules, and regulations at the **State and Central Government** levels. - Conduct **project appraisals** , feasibility studies, and impact assessments for urban development initiatives. - Utilize **GIS tools** for spatial analysis, mapping, and data visualization to inform planning decisions. - Collaborate with government departments, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with planning objectives. - Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external use. - Monitor and evaluate the progress of urban planning projects and provide strategic inputs. **Key Requirements:** - **Postgraduate degree (Master’s) in Urban Planning** from a recognized institution. - **Minimum 5 years** of professional experience in urban planning, with demonstrable **GIS expertise** . - Experience in **policy drafting** , **regulatory tasks** , and **project appraisal** for State/Central Government initiatives. - Strong understanding of urban development frameworks, planning norms, and regulatory compliance. - Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. **Preferred Attributes:** - Familiarity with urban planning software and tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS). - Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Prior experience in consulting or working with government agencies is a plus.
