Job Description: The Windows Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Windows Server environments to ensure the availability, performance, and security of enterprise IT infrastructure. The role involves managing Active Directory services, virtualization platforms, backup and recovery processes, system monitoring, and server performance while providing technical support for infrastructure-related issues. The administrator will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement infrastructure improvements, maintain high system uptime, and support day-to-day IT operations. Key Responsibilities - Install, configure, administer, and maintain Windows Server 2019 and later operating systems. - Manage and troubleshoot Windows Server roles and features, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy (GPO), and Remote Desktop Services (RDS). - Monitor server performance and troubleshoot system issues using Performance Monitor, Event Viewer, Task Manager, and other diagnostic tools. - Administer VMware virtual environments, including creating virtual machines, cloning VMs, managing snapshots, and allocating hardware resources. - Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot RAID (hardware and software) and perform disk management activities. - Perform regular server health checks, patch management, and preventive maintenance activities. - Manage backup and recovery operations to ensure business continuity and data integrity. - Provide technical support and resolve server, operating system, and infrastructure-related incidents within agreed SLAs. - Monitor infrastructure using enterprise monitoring and ticketing tools, ensuring timely incident resolution. - Assist in the evaluation, testing, and deployment of new hardware, software, and infrastructure technologies. - Support user access management, permissions, and security policies within the Windows environment. - Maintain documentation for server configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides. - Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and application teams to resolve complex technical issues. - Ensure compliance with organizational security standards, backup policies, and operational best practices. - Work independently and as part of a team to deliver reliable and efficient IT infrastructure support Required Skills : - 3–6 years of experience in Windows Server Administration. - Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server 2019 and later. - Good knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy (GPO), and Remote Desktop Services (RDS). - Experience with VMware administration, including VM creation, cloning, snapshots, and resource allocation. - Knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, server networking, and infrastructure troubleshooting. - Experience with backup and recovery solutions. - Hands-on experience with RAID configuration and disk management. - Familiarity with system monitoring and IT ticketing tools. - Basic knowledge of Unix/Linux servers is an added advantage. - Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills. - Ability to work independently and effectively within a team environment.
