About The Company Tata Communications Redefines Connectivity with Innovation and IntelligenceDriving the next level of intelligence powered by Cloud, Mobility, Internet of Things, Collaboration, Security, Media services and Network services, we at Tata Communications are envisaging a New World of Communications Role: Firewall L2 Engineer (Palo Alto / Check Point) Location: Pune Experience: 4–7 years (2+ years in Palo Alto / Check Point mandatory) Job Summary Looking for an experienced Firewall L2 Engineer with strong hands‑on experience in Palo Alto (PAN‑OS) and Check Point (R80.x) firewalls. The role involves daily operations, policy administration, VPN troubleshooting, security monitoring, and L2 escalation support for enterprise network security environments. Key Responsibilities ✔️ Manage & update firewall policies, objects, NAT rules, security profiles ✔️ Handle L2 troubleshooting for Palo Alto & Check Point firewalls ✔️ Support IPSec & SSL‑VPN configuration and issue resolution ✔️ Monitor traffic logs, threats, sessions & take corrective actions ✔️ Work with SOC/NOC on incidents, alerts & escalations ✔️ Execute changes following ITIL processes and maintain documentation Required Skills 🔹 Strong hands‑on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls (PAN‑OS, Panorama) 🔹 Check Point SmartConsole / SmartDashboard (R80.x) 🔹 Strong in NAT, ACLs, routing basics, threat profiles (AV/IPS/URL filtering) 🔹 Experience With Packet Capture, Troubleshooting & Log Analysis 🔹 Knowledge of HA clusters, L2/L3 fundamentals Preferred Certifications 🏅 Palo Alto PCNSA / PCNSE 🏅 Check Point CCSA / CCSE 🏅 CCNA/CCNP Security (Advantage) 🏅 ITIL Foundation
