Key Roles and Responsibilities 1. Project Planning • Develop integrated project execution plans from project initiation to commissioning and handover. • Prepare Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS). • Develop detailed Level 1 to Level 5 project schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent scheduling software. • Define project milestones, critical path, interfaces, and key deliverables. • Establish project calendars, activity coding structures, resource assignments, and project baselines. • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning teams for schedule development. • Ensure compliance with contractual milestone requirements and client reporting formats. • Develop procurement schedules, engineering schedules, construction schedules, testing schedules, and commissioning schedules. • Prepare recovery schedules and acceleration plans whenever required. 2. Schedule Monitoring and Control • Monitor project progress against approved baseline schedules. • Track engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning activities. • Update schedules periodically based on actual site progress. • Identify delays and analyze their impact on project completion. • Perform critical path analysis and float analysis. • Recommend mitigation measures to recover delays. • Monitor milestone achievements and contractual obligations. • Prepare look-ahead schedules (2-week, 4-week, and 3-month rolling plans). • Coordinate weekly and monthly planning meetings with stakeholders. • Ensure schedule integrity through regular quality checks. 3. Cost Planning and Budget Control • Develop project cost baselines aligned with approved budgets. • Establish cost coding structures linked to WBS. • Monitor commitments, expenditures, accruals, and budget utilization. • Track engineering, procurement, subcontract, material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs. • Monitor project cash flow requirements. • Support preparation of annual and monthly project budgets. • Maintain cost registers and budget revisions. • Ensure project expenditure remains within approved limits. • Coordinate with finance and commercial teams for cost reconciliation. 4. Cost Monitoring and Forecasting • Prepare monthly cost reports. • Monitor budget versus actual expenditure. • Develop Estimate to Complete (ETC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC). • Forecast project completion costs. • Analyze productivity trends affecting project costs. • Identify cost overruns and recommend corrective actions. • Prepare cash flow forecasts and expenditure forecasts. • Evaluate financial impact of project changes and variations. • Support preparation of project financial reviews and management presentations. 5. Progress Measurement and Performance Monitoring • Develop progress measurement systems for engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. • Measure physical progress based on approved progress measurement procedures. • Validate contractor and subcontractor progress claims. • Monitor productivity and performance indicators. • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports. • Develop project dashboards and management information systems. • Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). • Monitor project health through schedule, cost, and productivity metrics.
