Job description

**Purpose of the Role** Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) plant by maximizing asset availability, performance, and regulatory compliance. Lead site O&M activities, maintenance execution, safety, and stakeholder coordination to achieve operational excellence and business objectives. - Manage day-to-day operations of the BESS plant, ensuring optimal asset availability, State of Charge (SoC), State of Health (SoH), and compliance with grid dispatch schedules and PPA requirements. - Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for battery systems, PCS, transformers, switchgear, HVAC, fire suppression systems, and associated balance-of-plant equipment as per OEM guidelines. - Monitor plant performance through KPIs such as availability, round-trip efficiency (RTE), degradation, auxiliary consumption, and downtime; drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions. - Oversee Battery Management System (BMS), Energy Management System (EMS), and SCADA operations by monitoring alarms, analysing trends, and coordinating fault resolution with OEMs. - Ensure adherence to electrical safety, fire safety, permit-to-work systems, and thermal runaway mitigation protocols while promoting a zero-harm safety culture. - Coordinate with OEMs, contractors, and service providers to manage maintenance activities, SLA compliance, warranty issues, service support, and critical spare availability. - Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements including CEA, CEIG, Electricity Act, environmental norms, and maintain documentation for audits and inspections. - Lead and mentor site engineers, technicians, and contract workforce by managing shift operations, capability development, emergency response, and operational discipline. - Prepare operational MIS, maintenance reports, incident investigations, cost tracking, and support continuous improvement, commissioning handover, and coordination with grid authorities and corporate teams. **Education** - **Degree:** B.E. / B.Tech (Full-time) - **Specialization:** Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering / Instrumentation Engineering **Work Experience** - **Experience:** 710 years - **Domain:** Operations & Maintenance of Power Plants/Renewable Energy Projects with hands-on experience in BESS, Hybrid RE-BESS, Solar, Wind, Thermal, or Hydro assets. Minimum 2–3 years of direct BESS exposure preferred
